  1. Easy loading scooter ramp for motorhome garage

Can anyone recommend a lightweight solution to load a scooter in a garage. I know Fiamma do one but I'd prefer recommendations from satisfied users including tie down securing equipment. Any pointers please?
  2. Remoska cooker??

This video is impressive. Cooked two whole chickens in less than an hour.
  3. Remoska cooker??

Can anyone recommend these electric cookers? Are they worth the money?
  4. Advice on scooter loading and unloading from motorhome garage

I don't mean how do you secure it once it's in. My question is what ramp are people using to get it in and out again. For example this ramp...
  5. Advice on scooter loading and unloading from motorhome garage

Just wondering what systems people are using and would recommend to load and unload a scooter from a garage. I know fiamma do a rack and integrated ramp but someone told me that the height of the rack when fitted to the floor of the garage makes it difficult to get the handlebars through the...
  6. Safefill gas bottles in UK and Europe?

I was recently reading a thread on these lightweight refillable bottles and just wondering if the system is recognised by garages that sell lpg and will it be easy to fill them in both the UK and Europe? Has anyone been challenged when attempting to fill the cylinder? Is this a better...
  7. Quality Built Motorhomes??

Thanks everyone for sharing your personal experiences. I visited Event City motorhome show today and sadly almost 50% of the vehicles on show were Swift, which are not on my list. However, both Burstner and Adria motorhomes were represented and look far superior to the British built vans. I'm...
  8. Quality Built Motorhomes??

Is there such a thing. Having had two disastrous experiences including lengthy legal battles with the last two motorhomes, I'm terrified of buying yet another problem vehicle. I'm considering buying again but unsure of what to buy. Is it possible to buy a motorhome that doesn't leak and that has...
  9. Motorhome hire UK or Calais

Can anyone recommend a hire company. Having owned 3 motorhomes in the past 11 years, we've just sold our motorhome back to the dealer as it had an ongoing water leak that they couldn't resolve. I'm now in need of hiring a motorhome for an upcoming wedding in France. So I could either hire in the...
  10. Help for self build electrics solution for off grid camping

My son has bought a Boxer van for conversion and I'm wondering what components are required to implement a system on a tight budget. I have given him a Sterling B2B battery charger which was redundant in my garage and he has ordered a 200w solar panel kit from Amazon. Does he still need a split...
  11. Suggestions for a gathering

As per recent thread, the Clothiers Arms at Stocksmoor are keen to host a WC gathering. They have two large hardstanding carparks. Cosy pub with real fires and an Indian restaurant within. It's within the Last of The Summer Wine territory with Holmfirth just a short walk away. It's in an AONB...
  12. Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor welcomes large gatherings

I believe a few complaints came from the other side of the dual carriageway. There is a row of cottages overlooking the cricket pitch. I don't think they can even see the pub from there, although I suppose it's possible they could see the car park and the motorhomes from their bedrooms or loft...
  13. Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor welcomes large gatherings

I phoned the Navigation to make sure they could accommodate 2 motorhomesfor the weekend just gone and they declined. They told me that until further notice they can't accept any motorhomes stopping overnight. She told me that several locals have complained to the council and they are being...
  14. Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor welcomes large gatherings

This is the lower car park, but there is another large car park at the top left of the photo although it can't be seen in this photo.
  15. Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor welcomes large gatherings

Yes. The Indian runs the restaurant and the pub serves the drinks. The pub is very comfortable with individual seating areas, leather chesterfields etc. The restaurant is accessed via the pub but is run separately. It seems to work well.
  16. Clothiers Arms, Stocksmoor welcomes large gatherings

Unfortunately as the Navigation Inn, Bugsworth Basin is currently on motorhome lockdown due to local residents complaining, we had to look for another pub this weekend. We decided on the Clothiers Arms near Holmfirth. Really nice pub, real fires and the restaurant is sublet to an Indian...
  17. Phasing out Diesel vehicles

Electric vehicles is all very well, but I'm just wondering if anyone has asked the question of how will we dispose of the billions of batteries that are going to be manufactured for this new venture when they're dead? And we are talking billions!!
  18. Another Sat nav question

I notice Waze has now got over 100 million downloads. Now owned by Google it's a very powerful app, but I think you need data to run it. That's the downside. My son uses it and thinks it's brilliant.
  19. Another Sat nav question

Garmin definitely sounds good. This is the AGURI sat nav. It takes .csv files for poi's which I thought we did handle. Aguri RV720 DVR for caravans and motorhomes I think it's a different satnav to the snooper but is an offshoot company of snooper I think
  20. Another Sat nav question

Because of software update problem, I've had to send TomTom Go520 back for a refund so looking for another sat nav. I'm considering the Garmin camper or Aguri Camper (snooper) Both the Garmin and Snooper range of motorhome/caravan sat navs use identical maps and route attribute database e.g...
