Just stopped in Hawick. This is a better location than previously. It is at the far end of the car park. The service point is very good.
Short walk into town over the foot bridge.
Thanks to the local council for providing this facility
We went to Corsica and Sardinia in 2018.Thoroughly enjoyed both islands.
On Corsica we found several wild camp spots in the mountains. Also a few beach car parks. What aires we saw were expensive so didn't bother. There were plenty of water fountains where we could fill up with water.
Sardinia...
Never been searched. We have been asked if we have any meat products. We don't risk it, wouldn't want to have food confiscated .
Plenty of supermarkets in France. We enjoy going in them.
We've had Christmas Dinner in the van for many years.
Cook a chicken, pheasant or duck in oven.
Roast potatoes ,parsnips in dry frying pan on top of stove.Other veg in pressure cooker. Lovely, eat when we want
We have wild camped on occasions in France, but no need because of the amount of aires,
Avoid aires in popular tourist locations and you will often be on your own.
We have seen odd caravans in remote parts of Scotland. Your best idea would be go to a camp site in an area you like then explore every day in the car till you find somewhere suitable for another holiday.
