Advice on buying a motorhome private

Right I've done that. Nothing owing. There is a £30000 guarantee if it goes pear shaped but I have to press a button that says "Confirm VIN". Does that mean I have to match up the VIN number on the V5 with whats printed on the engine?

If it does still have finance, it isn’t a deal breaker just pay the outstanding finance to the finance company, then pay the seller the remaining balance
As long as it isn't more than the van 🤑 ! Some finance deals ppl get themselves into are £ckn unbelievable!

On the chassis I expect, & it's at the bottom of the screen passenger side view from outside, I assume you took a picture of that when you viewed it.

usually to take advantage of any guarantee you have to be physically by the vehicle at the time of buying the check.
Maybe take a selfie of youself showing the van with the reg in the frame and another with the VIN in the frame?

VIN should be visible bottom left of windscreen.

And on a plate somewhere apparently. I think it was something Kev told me to check but I forgot. Page 2 of the V5 it should match apparently.

If it doesn't match someones cocked up. Guess mistakes do happen though. Needs to be checked though.

VIN plate will be somewhere near drivers step or footwell, seat base or door frame.

Is it worth texting the seller to take a picture of both or should I wait until tomorrow and do it myself? Might look like I am too keen again :D

On a ducato, there is a VIN plate under a cover by the drivers step. can't recall exactly where but I had some fun trying to find it on my van when I needed it to sign up for a VIN Check security service.

Thinking about it, I have no idea what the VIN situation is with an ALKO chassis. Will it have two?

There is a plate on the AlKo axle with the type number and if I remember correctly a makers number.

Each axle is rated at 1500 Kg on a Tag axle van. I am not sure if it is more when there is only one rear axle.

Had a check and the VIN is under a cover shown within the yellow box ....
