Advice on buying a motorhome private

We've got 2 accounts Barry.

'Our' account and 'Her' account. :(

I bet she (Michelle) has loads, probably a Swiss one an all! She hasnt "officially" worked since 2003 so summat funny going on. Drug Lord, Money launderer. Summat like that I bet. If I earn any money I never see it. Where does it go? In the Pandemic I started asking people to pay me in Malt Whisky. True dat.

Well, this is innerestin innit.

We need to get to the bottom of this.

Does she go out a lot alone?

Does she look nicer when/if she does?

Has she started looking after her appearance more?

Any phone calls that hang up when you answer?

We need more data...

Nah it won't be anything seedy like that. Probably running some kind of insider trading syndicate whatever that is.

She's obviously a 10.

Wow! Really useful that Kev cheers. 35 min video. I just skipped through it so far but already Ive learned that it has heated water tanks to stop them freezing in winter. That van is the lowline model though and interestingly its a different layout with midship kitchen which was a red line for us and a different layout at the front.

Michelle is already compiling a list of negatives. :D There is no draining board for a kick off!! WTF! Storage space in lockers and even the cutlery draw is much smaller, no tooth brush holder and nowhere to put one and these are just the negatives I can remember she said. :D

However (and we both agree), we had to have this model. ITs the only one that would have worked with the bike on the back in this layout.

None of them have a fixed drainer but there should be a plastic one in the crap tall cupboard next to the fridge if not, you can buy on and they are really quite good.

your van is more or less the same layout cept bathroom and dinette, but I would check just how much your has compared to the video one as you can of course add extras when ordering.

Interesting. Will have a look. Tomorrow. We are having a rest day today and a van free day. 😵‍💫

Ive just emailed Armitage Trailers to see if they fit mud flaps. I Reckon we should get some fitted. I had to clean all the crud off yesterday from its visit to the quarry weighbridge.

they might if you supply them, actually Duke ones are bit spensive but ebay has cheaper ones.

Front ones might be standard Fiat Ducato maybe but I bet the back ones are not with it having an Alko Chassis. Dunno. It was a bit of a long shot. They havent replied yet. Why cant everyone reply to emails instantly like what I do? :D

Yes the genuine ones are for Panel vans.

I've found a great plate for your van Barry...

Going to look at a replacement van on Sunday. Its a private sale up in Newton Aycliffe so just 20 miles up the road. Its a chunk of money at £37k but a fair bit cheaper than if it was at a dealers (more like £44k probably) and of course there may be some haggling to be done. I suspect it will require a couple of visits. First one to suss out the seller and the van. He has only had it three months. Apparently it belonged to a friend who had it two years and then passed away. The new owner reckons he prefers his caravan or some such story but that set a few alarm bells ringing. I suspect he got it cheap and is trying to make a few quid. First thing ill be doing is checking the V5 to make sure its his and that its where he lives. Open to any other advice.
Given the large outlay, unless you are fully confident in your mechanical ability and skill in assessing the habitation area, I think a full mechanical and habitation would be money well spent.
