Trip to France

Dont see why, the water will only move so fast into a hose or can, the van is only feet away, it holds 10 litres, it takes only a few seconds to empty it into the tank, normally we need 50 litres to top up as we dont empty it.

So you open your locker, get out your hose, find the hose adapter, put it on the tap, fit the hose to it, wait for it to run and clean out any debris, fill the tank, detach the hose, empty and recoil the hose, put it back in the locker, detach the adapter, lock the locker.

No way a hose is faster than a can.
But CAN you prove it, maybe we should do the can can hosey. 😂

If you are filling your tank when less than half full a watering can takes an age .
Trust me I have completed shitloads of theseseses

I watched a bloke on a site in Switzerland once go back and forwards from his van to the sinks with individual items of cutlery to clean them. We figured he was either mad, enjoyed the exercise or the favourite theory that he just wanted to get away from his other half. 😁 The watering can palava sounds similar. 😂

Dont carry one, dont want one, nor getting one, and not going to use a paid one again.
You do seem to like to make life difficult for yourself Kev. I made one up myself. Few metres of food grade hose, hoselock adaptor on the end. Sling it in the locker in seconds as it's dead easy to coil up or deploy. I just sit in the cab and watch it fill in the wing mirror.

If you can sit in the cab, how can it be faster???

If it takes more than about 5 minutes on a decent tap flow with a 10 litre can I'd be very surprised, can lives in the bathroom so easy access, no farting about unlocking any lockers either.

I also get a little exercise too.

Big bugger in the Aldi carpark.

I now have an unwanted image .... hokey-cokey! (not) 😁

Because you have a constant flow with a hose, dont have to walk between the tap and the van each time and then start all over again and providing its not one of these taps where you have to hold a button in you can do something else at the same time such as empty the loo. Sounds like an added bonus with a hose in that it will fit in a locker and you dont have to keep it in the bathroom. :D

We hold the world record for being the fastest ever users on a French service point. Sounds to me like you might be stuck on there longer than a Frenchman! :ROFLMAO:

1091 posts, and he has done nothing but complain since he got there!

They're not all Kev's posts [only about 1075 ...] :ROFLMAO:. Also, Kev did say at the outset that it would be his first trip for decades, so the culture shock might be larger than the 'slow creep' of range that more regular visitors barely notice. Lastly, as far as I am concerned, if a trip starts off well, then Posts will refer to the joys of the day; if it starts off badly, Posts can become written by Anne Another-Thing ... (y). I think it's to do with Perception v. Reality [but whose?] and that is too deep for me!

Yesterday we had a great afternoon parked up watching a Boules tournament which we enjoyed immensely, with some really good players there, we used to carry a set but in one of the van changes they got put in the garage and they got too rusty to use.

So we decided to buy a new set, I asked a couple of the players where I could buy a good set, Decarhalon, in Claire, near Perpignan, which was good as we wanted to go there.

Google maps made a real hash of it, taking us all over the place and then rerouting us again and again, and much as it pains me to admit it, I gave up and asked Liz to try on her iPhone, and it worked fine 🥶🥶🥶

I tried to uninstall maps but you can't, I did clear the maps cache and it seems to be ok now but I have been using it forever and never had a problem

Oil you.

We're having a really great time TBH just a few gripes, some out of ignorance of course, we can't all be clever buggers can we, met some great Brits on the road too, one today with a toad as we were both getting gas on the same pump,I asked if it was illegal to tow on an A frame, he said he'd never been stopped.

I have a set which I always carried on the boat Kev. There are a few gravelly beaches on the river where we have stopped for an impromptu game with other boaters and usually a lot of food and beer involved, brilliant on a Summers day!

Must dig my set out again.

The big grey van I pictured was a brit too, his solution to the Angels morts sticker was quite good.

Dunno if he's on here, last 3 are LOV
