Trip to France

If the instant reading is fast enough and accurate enough, it could probably show anything from about 4 MPG to (arguably) no fuel being used at all, obviously not including being stationary :)

99MPG is probably the highest the reader can go to and means you are actually using no, or virtually no fuel at all.
I did run it that way one day but it was quite distracting.

I just signed out of my Dropbox to see how the link worked, POS I can't see how to go from one pic to the next without going back to the folder and clicking the next picture.

I thought you would just cursor right and it would do it.

I'm on with Dropbox chat now to see if I'm doing it wrongly or not

Within each folder can you go from pic to pic ok? as I can't, I know you can't go to the next folder.

I split them into days as the file names would screw up any order, it was bad enough naming the folders so they followed correctly.

I ordered one of these on 16/7 to replace the one I bashed in France. it still hadn't turned up, I reported it to the seller last week, he said can you hang on to see if it arrives, in no rush so I agreed, they messaged me this morning and then refunded me, so I bought another this morning, just been to our post box and it has turned up, I just rang them and told them to keep the money but not send it and it had already been posted, it seems Royal Fail are about ten days late in some areas and the further north you go the worse it is.

I mentioned a new trip somewhere next year now we am seasoned European bears.

Scotland>Ireland>France>etc going via ferry to France directly from Ireland.

Prices seem quite good considering the Irish ferry and Calais ferries.

This was our chosen route, less Ireland driving, as we'd go via Belfast and go anti-clockwise this time.

This is the cheapest but not by much but more driving in Ireland

The cheapest cabin is £100 so won't bother with that just suffer the seating.

I think it's a good way to do it all, comments are invited, please.

They look very good to me Kev. I priced Plymouth to Roscoff on a whim the other week thinking we might hop to Brittany and it was £600+ one way

A lot depends on where you want to go in France. More driving in France if you consider that you've already done Brittany! I would expect weather there to be OK at that time of year, particularly on the south coast.

I did do an Autoroute of the journey but it's gone, the idea mainly is to avoid some costs Irish and channel ferries are not cheap, so don't come back to Blighty, just carry on to France, not many go north to France from Yorkshire so we'll be trendsetters.

We do want to do Switzerland a bit more and Luxemburg, but we'll go anticlockwise from the French coast and see bits we missed, then we'll hit Switzerland later when it's a bit more warmerer, we may even go into the farterland, as ever when we go we may miss a lot, but we just go on a whim, Liz does like to plan stuff but then she doesn't tell me about it until we've passed it two day later

We'd be open to some suggestions for Switzerland for Liz to look at and Luxemburg too please, we'll be in less of a rush this time so might actually go to some of them.

Hides from the torrent of abuse.

If by chance you find yourselves in Cherbourg, the Cité de la Mer is worth a visit; don't know whether you would manage the decommissioned nuclear sub, but the main building and multi-level aquarium should be OK (long time since I was there). The Musée de la Libération might also be worth investigating. The AF (near the Cité de la Mer) tends to be very full - I use it for services if not using WS Tourlaville. The latter is my preferred option, because at the AF the water flows very slowly. For overnighting, you will find a CU option near the AF that I have reviewed. NB: The POI database is currently corrupted and not all categories are showing correctly - that WS is showing as a CR and the CU is showing as an AF! - but @Admin has been informed of the issue and will no doubt have this corrected very soon.

Out of curiosity, I looked at CAMC to see if there were any savings.

I'm not a member and it didn't ask me for membership details, but the discount would need to be hefty to make me want to join them.

Could a member please try the same journey to see if it is worth joining please? @ £63 it's not silly, and is this the one that allows the use of facilities only at some sites? I did look but didn't see it.

And while I'm here are there any other ways to save money, I have to remind we do NOT stay on sites ever.

Thought I'd check on here but stupidly you can't check so absolutely no point in joining them, shame £10 more cheaper.
