That’s more like the park ups that I know and love in France. None of that horrible industrial estate business!!Carcassonne was a disappointment, the main square was nice but, the rest was quite run down, grub was cheap enough though.
We stopped at a few so called WC free AIRES that were now camping car sites, (reported) so being from Yorkshire we passed, and headed to Perpignan looking for nice quiet place to overnight and found this empty picnic area.

You need to be faster with the watering cans, Kev! Like many charging service points, that one is restricted to 10 minutes operation. Might even cut off earlier if no sustained demand. I seldom resort to a watering can in France, virtually always using a hose.Just visited an aire on the way to Perpignan.
Aire park Maury. On the 4 site
we just wanted to fill with water got two watering cans out of it before turned off, 3.5€ not well spent, rang the number and two great french lads turned up and let me follow them to their yard 50m away to fill up. the machine purportedly does English but it reverts to french, it's pretty dire to be honest next to the crematorium, rough and unlevel.
It looked like the tap had prostate problems Tom it was running so slow. You need to be faster with the watering cans, Kev! I do find waiting behind watering can users does give me a chance to finish my thesesYou need to be faster with the watering cans, Kev! I always use a can as good for quick getaway if neededDont see why, the water will only move so fast into a hose or can, the van is only feet away, it holds 10 litres, it takes only a few seconds to empty it into the tank, normally we need 50 litres to top up as we dont empty it.
So you open your locker, get out your hose, find the hose adapter, put it on the tap, fit the hose to it, wait for it to run and clean out any debris, fill the tank, detach the hose, empty and recoil the hose, put it back in the locker, detach the adapter, lock the locker.
No way a hose is faster than a can.
In all my years motorhoming in France I don't think I have ever seen a van pull up to a service point and get a watering can out to fill the van. As you discovered many are on a timer. Whip the hose out. Short ones are best, bung it in and "then" stick your money in. Takes me 20 seconds.Dont see why, the water will only move so fast into a hose or can, the van is only feet away, it holds 10 litres, it takes only a few seconds to empty it into the tank, normally we need 50 litres to top up as we dont empty it.
