We too have a septic tank and have sought help from tinternet re bio or non bio wash powder issue and it's certainly not conclusive as there's contradictory advice. We've come down on the bio route which we've used for years. The bugs seem to be doing their work, every now and again I do an examination to ascertain the depth of sludge at the bottom ( with a stick!) and it seems to be holding steady at less than a quarter off the bottom. Haven't had it emptied in over 12 years. The instructions with our septic tank is not to use Bio products. As it costs a fortune to rectify, I will take the word of the manufacturer over a motorhome forum. But of course, if it is not your septic tank, why worry?
Actually we don't use owt in the MH bog, haven't done for a few years now. Tried a bio wash pouch once but It didn't seem to do much tbh. Can't see the point now, just a pointless faff for nothing and that blue stuff stinks worse than a tom tit.If bio works well in the loo then it will do the same in a septic tank, no brainer.
Im with you Z this is great thread but a little disappointing there isn’t a mention of the bag it and bin it squad so far, no need for anything in your cassette other than pee. but I’ll read on as the anticipation is gripping.Oh how I’ve missed a good Toilet Thread. I’m going to Multitask by taking this into the Loo to re-Read
And as if by magic the very next post let’s hear it for the BB squad yayyyy.Safest bet is to not use the loo any more often than you need to, and empty into a loo etc in a large town, BAG and BIN it use a bottle ladies too and empty discreetly
I use compostable bags the ones for your little food waste bins at home available in most supermarkets COMPOSTABLE not BIODEGRADABLE is best.We have used these bags in the past, I just found them in the garage.
Not much info on it though.
Hope you washed your hands
Those ones go in the cassette Annie, they were in a van we bought a long time ago but you have to have 2-3 litres of water in there so we'd only use them over winter to keep it fresh then not bother again, we have a collection of Thetford stuff out of different vans, I'm not a lover of them. £$%^ stinks but I don't find it offensive, wee is much worse if left for a few days.I use compostable bags the ones for your little food waste bins at home available in most supermarkets COMPOSTABLE not BIODEGRADABLE is best.

Bag it and bin it, and wee in a bottle.
I read hot datesNot after a few hot days it doesn't
You have a good memory thenI read hot dates
I tried Solbio. For the first. 36 hours it was brilliant. Then a very pervasive smell built up. I thought I'd wait and see. Perhaps it'd go away. It got worse.I am trying Solbio in my cassette
That's OXO ya daft tartThe ones I use from the pound shop are little blue white solid blocks which come in a silver foil inside a green box, think there is 5 packets with 2 blocks in each, never a smell or problems if left in the loo for a few weeks to do there job, and 4 of us dont seem to fill it up as we do use outside loos when we can.
Wondered why the waste was brown, i will send you some to taste. That's OXO ya daft tart
