Toilet Thread🙄

I agree that I can't find 'bio' laundry capsules any more. One store keeper told me that they are all bio anyway so we just buy the cheapest we can find. We've had no problem at all, smells as fresh as one can expect when emptying and we use the toilet as at home.

Not wise to trust the seller of anything.

Just as with other types of detergent, there are bio and non-bio washing capsules. The bio capsules have the extra stain-removing power of enzymes, while non-bio capsules don't contain enzymes and are better if you're washing clothes to be used on sensitive skin.

We use capsules (squidgy things) in the wash at home and if they don't dissolve fully they become a gelatinous gungy mess.
I wouldn't want anything that might impede full cassette functionality.😳

Being a man I have no idea what dishwwashing is.

Exact opposite to the rules in our MoHo.

Every morning I am banished from the van to do the dish washing, while SWMBO has a coffee and tidies up the inside.
If it is raining very hard I'm allowed to put the awning out and stand underneath it.
If it is raining very very hard I'm allowed to wear a waterproof jacket.

I am the boss in our van (I have the wife's permission to think this).

We use the green, proper liquid from Aldi or Lidl. When we were in the South of France in the very hot weather, we had to dose the cassette twice a day or it was putrid when the toilet was used when we tried washing tablets. The excuse of saving money really doesn't work if you have to keep adding tablets. But tablets leave a residue. Look inside any washing machine that is used on a 30 deg cycle (much warmer than the temperature of the cassette) and there is gunge!

And the other thing is, septic tanks. You will find most people (if not all) avoid anything Bio. They can severely damage the working of the tank and if you wild camp, you may be emptying to a septic tank at rural locations. Not really a good idea.

We have been emptying our cassette and washing machines (multiple times a day) into septic tanks for years with no noticeable difference whatsoever.
Washing machine gunge is caused by fabric softener, we don't use it - no gunge.
Not particularly trying to save money here. It is convenience and not lining the pockets of those who ramp the price up when putting the word motorhome or caravan in the description.

The instructions with our septic tank is not to use Bio products. As it costs a fortune to rectify, I will take the word of the manufacturer over a motorhome forum. But of course, if it is not your septic tank, why worry?

Now now, I was clearly stating that this is our experience.

But that is the point! Your experience is not that of someone who has to have their septic tank rejigged because someone else is using bio products. We pay around £6 for the proper stuff. It is half a litre and lasts most of the year. It states it is safe for septic tanks. I can't really understand why people still use washing products anyway. But what do I know!

This is a toilet thread, not an argument thread.

Bags are the way forward. :p :)
