Of course you could do some cunning trickery. If your favourite wild spot appears on one of these sites start leaving several reviews under different names stating it's been banned or a height barrier has gone up.

How would you feel if I came and parked right next to you, within arms reach of your precious tin can (well thats what we all own in all shapes and forms) at your fav' spot that is now already overcrowded in your view?
Please post a picture of you and your camper, motorhome, vehicle or whatever mobile palace you inhabit so I can avoid you in future.
When you have done so, I will post pictures of me, my dog and my very unique camper, that is so easily recognisable, so you can avoid me with pleasure!

I agree. The vitriol and unpleasantness directed at Harry is completely over the top. A couple of comments would have sufficed to make the point. He has now had 4 pages of abuse and virtue signalling thrown at him and I think enough is enough!!

Well I am really struggling here.
I can honestly say I can’t remember a more selfish post than the one from the OP. Yes Rivertowy did get to personal, and the insult regarding a capital letter for the OPs surname was out of order, but generally I agree with what was posted.
I suspect they own a self built van, and putting yourself in their position after reading the op I can see why they were so angry.
The OP complained about people in vans they had no respect for, taking up a place they felt was their birthright. And the OPs reply contained no apology but an affirmation of his right to a parking place when confronted by what they called
a home converted builders truck with a box on the back, eyesore.
The op also complained about pois being over used whilst reckoning it’s ok to further compound the issue by “squeezing “ between two vans.
The level of snobbery, selfishness, and sheer arrogance was alarming.

Sorry to disagree, but the only person who needs to apologise is the op, if I owned a self built van, or even an unconventional van I would be outraged to an even greater degree than I was when I first read the op. I may be wrong but I don’t think the OP has been asked to apologise.

There's no need to be sorry, you have a right to an opinion. I'm all in favour of people having opinions and healthy discussion but unless I'm mistaken Harry has only expressed opinions about people unlike rivertowie who made more than one direct personal insult. I've not checked the forum rules but I'd make a guess that such insults are banned and if not then IMHO they should be.

Welcome to discuss further with anyone who disagrees but please no personal insults, they do nothing good.

I don’t like it when it gets personal, and I don’t condone their comments.
But the OP insulted anyone with a self build van he does not approve of.
I reckon they owe an apology to many on here.
Many can’t afford a gin palace on wheels.
They should not be subject to such comments on here.

I understand what you're saying but the op insulted the vehicle NOT the person, being told you've got a 5hit vehicle isn't very nice but being told you're a 5hit person is next level and crosses a line IMHO
There's enough crap in the world without any additional help from this forum, both parties should apologise for what's been said, again just my opinion..

Yes I agree they should both apologise, but the post I replied to only asked for an apology from one person, and not the OP. If they had asked for an apology from both parties I would have agreed. But let’s not forget what generated this debate, the OPs post.
Also if someone told me that my van was not good enough to be somewhere I would find that insulting, and take that very personally. I reckon you would to.

Ever so slightly off topic , but not in any way personal , people with really big vans which take up 2-3 spaces in very small Aires should stop it . Immediately. If they also have trailers then I will get personal

(We all KNOW that anyone who has a bigger van than we have does not need a van that size. Same as anyone with a TV if we don't watch TV is not a "proper" camper and anyone with an awning if we don't like them is just carrying round extra weight, and ......... )
