over use caused by WEBSITE BLOCKED BY ADMIN

The issue with poi's, face ache and other social media is that once you post a place to stay using any type of forum your not just telling one person, your telling several, those several distribute the information to several others and then the same happens again, then one day you rock up at the place only you knew and there's vans everywhere,
I never share remote locations I find for this reason.
I mentioned this earlier in this thread but my post seems to have been removed

We had driven nearly 40 miles to take that ferry trip across the sound and that car park was the only one from which we, in our current state of health, could access the trip planned. So we felt justified in squeezing in. Our wagon is 15 years old but we strive to keep it in an apparently decent state of repair and cleanliness and it is not a grotty builders truck with a box on top.

I dont think it makes any difference if its a brand new £250k Concorde or a Tranny van with a mattress in the back. Both vans have no more right to be there or not be there than the other. The issue is the number of vans not what they look like. We are all doing the same thing, personally I like seeing the Heinz 57 varieties of self builds you sometimes see. Im no a site 😵‍💫 at the moment and a family arrived in what looks like a huge self build lorry. Looks marvelous. Ive been waiting to get an opportunity to talk to them about it. Full timers I suspect.

As the owner of an aging van I'd say those that denigrate others vans need to get over themselves. When we look out of our windows we all see the same views. Those vans may be their pride and joy and taken a lot of scrimping and saving to achieve. Not everyone have endowments or the wherewithal to get loans to buy £150 k vans despite working hard and savings may have been decimated by life events. A couple of days ago I saw a van that was so dirty I'm surprised they could see through the window. Perhaps they'd just inherited and just picked it up. Perhaps that is their lifestyle. I don't care; it's how people act and treat each other and their shared spaces that matter not the colour of their skin, how they look or speak.
If you don't get your free whatever it's no good throwing your rattle out of the pram move on; life's too short!
Tin hat on

LOL! You should see the state of ours after over three months on the road in the UK this summer. I keep cleaning the windows but the rest of the exterior and especially the roof is filthy. :D Ill avoid club sites though as I cant bear the thought of all that curtain twitching and tutting. 🤣

The other day we pulled up to one of our favourite spots where we are usually the only motorhome and as we approached, I was pleased to note that there were no height barriers yet as I suspect there will be soon. However, I was dismayed to note that there were four wagons there already (one an “a” class, forgotten which make, was pushed through the hedge at the rear) and the only space that I can completely fit into was already taken by a panel van conversion (shorter than me). Well we squeezed into a spot along side the panel van (Autotrail, I think) and was further dismayed to note that blocking the best view was what looked like a home converted builders truck with a box on the back, eyesore. We went for the harbour cruise we were planning on and when we came back the Autotrail couple had their chairs and table out grrr, should have said something but didn't. We then drove off for three days and on our return, the “a” class was still there, talk about abuse. I should be surprised, next time we go, if there is not some anti MH restriction. I was told that they all found the spot on “WEBSITE BLOCKED BY ADMIN” web site. No room for us this time. Fortunately we then found a spot nearby, not so good but OK for a night stop and should not upset anyone. We were told by the Autotrail occupants that “WEBSITE BLOCKED BY ADMIN” even described the attractions of the spot encouraging it’s use.

Even to me this sounds as though I am just being selfish but abuse and over use of such spots only leads to their removal from availability. A couple of years ago there was a spot at Marazion where one chap consistently parked on the footpath for the whole summer and refused to do otherwise when approached and complained to by other users (I was told). The next year the council reformed the 4 meter plus footpath making it unusable by any but all terrain vehicles.
Sounds like some of this moan is on a basis of My Van is Better Than those Vans that got there first.
Wild Camping does not mean you have to have a top of the range Van.
Complains about over use then slots his van in.
Complains some one parked there piece of joy converted truck blocking the best views.
Oh dear the the middle class from the council estates are converted vans and taking my space.
I is better than Yawn attitude I think.

The hole you are digging just got deeper. Your hypocrisy seems limitless. If you “squeezed” in next to me, I would have left you to it. How dare these folk in their dirty vans park where you wish to be.

Unbelievable

Possibly one of the most blatant cases of NIMBYism and frankly snobbery I've read for a while ...

Other folks shouldn't be there because you want to be or beleive you have some special right ...medical or shiny van wise .

None of us have anymore of a right than anyone else ...
The amount of times I've landed at a fave spot or somewhere we've searched out via a,map and Google earth to find someone parked there already ...
I don't moan about it ...I just carry on my way and look for somewhere else and leave them to their solitude ...

I certainly wouldn't be "squeezing" in no matter what my circumstances ...
And definitely wouldn't be moaning about it .

I don't like to see a block of any vans (posh or not)
And don't think it looks good to other folks ...

I think I may have a solution

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
No one listened.
Guess they think they are perfect.

I admit I'm not perfect.

Last week I thought that I had made a mistake, but I hadn't.
So you got that wrong then?
Sounds like you DID make a mistake but didn't realise you'd made a mistake....... which was a mistake.
Come to think of it, posting "Last week I thought that I had made a mistake, but I hadn't." was bound to get criticised for it's poor logic so probably posting it was ....er .....a mistake. 🤪 🤪 🤪 🤪
;)

How I so much agree with this!
harrytheird (you don't even deserve a capital letter for your name as you are a disgrace to the campervan/motorhome community)!
How would you feel if I came and parked right next to you, within arms reach of your precious tin can (well thats what we all own in all shapes and forms) at your fav' spot that is now already overcrowded in your view?
Please post a picture of you and your camper, motorhome, vehicle or whatever mobile palace you inhabit so I can avoid you in future.
When you have done so, I will post pictures of me, my dog and my very unique camper, that is so easily recognisable, so you can avoid me with pleasure!
Actually, its so different, you may have already seen it.
Show me yours and I will show you mine!
I bet you dont!

Harrytherid the van might have been a eyesore but it was what they could afford I assume.I started with a suzuki carrie { bedford rascal in disguise} it got me out and about and there where some laughs like if it was raining heavy would ask to park under someones awning and slept out in all weathers -8 I think stonehenge no heater in van on morning gas was froze coffee was froze that was bad news .
