I very rarely have had any problems with the EE network wherever I have been in the UK.

There are 7 of us in our house on various networks but Julie and I are the only ones who get a decent signal because we are both on EE.

But if you travelling about EE it is the best option, and in Scotland they are far the best option. But where you live another provider may be better. In that case its horses for courses. If you have EE broadband at home now, and have an EE mobile it’s unlimited data, as I said we have three EE sims on unlimited data for £34 a month.

I've recently switched from 1p mobile for that very reason Bill after a heads up from Chris of this parish. Although 1p were very good and I paid £10 per month for 25GB, but EE made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I now get unlimited data for both Julie and myself.

Julie isn't a big internet user on her 'phone but she now pays £11.50 for unlimited data. I now pay £14 per month the difference being because I opted for 100mbs.

When out about in the van we can use a lot, but we’re not always out in the van. Jeez, I recently checked the Smarty sim at the house and we use between 6 and 800Gb monthly, was that a typo and you use 20Gb?

I have fibre in the house supplied by EE, I don’t have a clue how much we use there. I was referring to our sims in the phones and the router in the van Nab.

We probably use more in the van, I don’t know that’s the beauty of unlimited data it’s not something I check. It depends how long we are out for and where we are. If we use wifi to watch the tv due to poor tv reception it uses 2gb an hour.

I pay £90 a year, free calls/texts and 10gig every mth internet on one penny.

I liked 1p Trev and 25GB for a tenner a month was a good deal. But we plan to travel a lot more in the next year and I prefer having unlimited and unthrottled for 4 quid more.

I ditched my home broadband and bought a Nightgear M6 with a sim from Scancom, I get over 300mbps with unlimited data, it works out at just over £4pm

I tried doing that a few years ago but whichever sim I tried, I could not get a strong enough signal.

If I lived at the house 2 doors away I could have fitted an antenna on the gable end and got line of sight to a nearby tower.

I feel your pain, Whilst I'm in town I can receive most networks, just, but the only usable one is O2 , as featured on Martin Lewis show , very similar situation as you 100 yds down the road its fine

I use a 5G antenna mounted at the back of the house on a pole, it was bought for the van but because we are housebound for the foreseeable future I thought I would use it at home, it pulls in a stronger signal on 3 and EE, both networks state 5G outdoors but not inside so the antenna works well, I have two Sims 3 and EE, any events at Donington Park affects the speeds so I watch if needed, the M6 has an ethernet port (only available if the battery is removed unless you are confident to play around with it) which I use for a mesh system, this gives me full speed everywhere, my shed is 140 metres from the router at the back and the car 180 metres away at the front (I have a WiFi camera mounted in the back), both receive full speed.
I have previously paid Virgin over £40pm and BT over £35pm for speeds that never exceeded 60mgbs, the days of cable are over as far as I am concerned

I'm disappointed it doesn't have openVPN, and I've reneged on my offer to sell it to you @Fisherman . It wont handle NordVPN directly without rooting it and some other tec magic which I'll probably fail doing. Returned to Sender.

No, not all SIM cards automatically support VPNs
, but most can use them through a separate app, while some specialized "fixed IP" SIM cards are designed to work with corporate VPNs. The ability to use a VPN is not restricted by the SIM card itself, but by the mobile carrier's network policies, government regulations in the region, and your device's capabilities.

For me a router that costs over £700 (new) that doesn't support OpenVPN or Wireguard beggars belief

Here's one that supports both OpenVPN and Wireguard, it's dual SIM and costs roughly half the price

Both my SIM cards O2 and French Reglo operate fine with m'y NordVPN account, on my phone.
I need the router to be loaded with my NordVPN profile so the WiFi it transmits and is picked up by the TV is through VPN and therefore can watch UK TV using a non UK SIM, which I can do on my phone.
I appreciate you didn't need VPN capabilities
