USING AN EXISTING VISION PLUS AERIAL POLE FOR WIFI.

Just out of interest, what do people who don't watch TV, or stream or watch netflix type stuff do on a night in their vans in say November? :D If I'm not watching something (Never watch live TV) I'm probably glued to a screen annoying people on here :D Sometimes I do both at the same time.

You could get some interesting answers there Barry! 😐

there's a fine skill ... annoying multiple people simultaneously. true multi-tasking :)

Someone could say to you "why haven't you have a TV for many Decades".
Like you said, it is about choice so what makes you entitled to ask why someone else is doing something just because you don't?
I can easily answer that perfectly valid question.
1. Television is full of people that I dont want in my house (or my van).
2. There are umpteen channels, so however much you watch TV, you are missing umpteen-1. Might as well miss all umpteen and get your life back.
3. TV promotes lifestyle choices that benefit the promotion of mass consumption
4. The effect of passive input shortens concentration spans and undermines critical thinking. The effects are most noticable in children, but it affects us all.
I'm sure there are other reasons, but these immediately spring to mind.

I've never got WHY folks get so arsed about what others do in their vans....

It's THEIR van.... Not anyone else's...

It's an odd thing...
It isn't just a matter of questioning a lifestyle choice.

It is more that unless you know the objective, it is difficult to identify the best way to achieve it.

Whether you want the latest news, current weather forecast, soap opera developments, irritating ad interruptions, or simple entertainment. All these have alternative methods but those alternatives are not all the same.

Most people start with the assumption that TV is a requirement. That needs questioning. That's made very obvious by the several hurt responses to my simple question.

For us: Read a book, listen to music, play games, chat, sometimes listen to the radio (less often in recent years). Plan the next day's adventure. And a little email. Occasionally watch a film on a laptop.

At times do some work (which is on a screen). For some reason, urgent jobs mostly tend to come in when we're away.

For our last trip away, with a four-year-old, we went to bed when he did, so we were able to cope with waking up when he did at silly O'clock the next morning.

But you are missing the point ... What has it got to do with YOU what OTHERS do. Who made you the time and decision police?
YOU do what YOU want to do, and let others do what they want to do and keep your sticky beak out of their business.

I could tell you what I do when away in the van - or at home for that matter - but it is absolutely nothing to do with you.

And what you do when away is of no interest to me either. (y)

I'm so very glad that you cleared that up for me.

I'm so very glad that you cleared that up for me.
Just to add that I was not informing you of my activities. I was replying to a question from someone else.

Given that I quoted the question in my reply, it seems odd that you missed noticing that.

Other people do exist, you know.
