Trip to France

Oh and Google bleedin’Maps didn’t tell me of the 2.6m bridge on the way to one place we wanted to get to yesterday. Not a patch on Garmin!

I'm parked up and level here.

As you can see there is a tunnel to my right on the screen shot, the next pic is of a dead straight gradient along that line (near the top) and my engineers mind can't think why it's there, i doubt they used cut and cover as we're to high up, it's not a road per se, and at the upper most wnd is a mast with a large solar panel at ground level.

Also I just noticed this in my wind screen, what is it for? Chermany?

<snip>
Is it possible that it was used during construction of the tunnel for some form of access, perhaps for ventilation shafts? Or possibly during subsequent works including the provision of 11 sloping evacuation tunnels?

On the way here I spotted a BOP high in the sky and as we got closer, it just dropped like a stone to our side of the road, grabbed something and took off, I was too slow to press the picture button, but I stopped and logged the time on my phone so I can download the video sector.

I think it may be an eagle but not sure, see snaps of video.

If you get into the Pyrenees around Gavarnie ans Cauterets or anywhere in the big mountains you will see loads of Vultures and large eagles.
Second a vote fir Gavarnie , beautifilul place but watch your brakes coming back down the col du tourmalet. Ours set on fire !

Been there a couple of days, we're heading north west now, in Durfort tonight, doing the loire valley next,we indoors thinks it'll be nice, I have my doubts but I'll keep an open mind.

Eh? You were nowhere near there on your maps.

We went into spain once Barry, we have spent 3 night in amongst the mountains too, last night being the best, the maps dont really show much as I zoom out to show a rough location.

Ah sorry. I thought you meant you had been to Gavarnie and Cauterets. Thats a shame. I could have shown you a fantastic wild spot near the Cirque de Troumouse! :( I thought you were going to Lourdes so it would have been an easy ride up. Its just epic up there.
