stolen motorhome

back to the original post,

There were something like 130,500 vehicles stolen in England and Whales in 2023.

Should the Police take all these cases seriously and investigate all of them, yes they should.

Should they also investigate every single case of fraud where some £1.13billion was stolen, yes they should.

Sexual assault in the same period 1.1 million cases, should they investigate every case, yes they should.

Theft cases 8.7million cases, should they investigate every case, yes they should.

Assault 1.46 million cases, should the Police investigate all of these, yes they should.

Truth is the Police can’t deal with everything, and like it or not pretty much everything comes down to money, The Police look at vehicle theft and take the opinion that the vehicle is insured and therefore it simply takes second place to sexual assault, physical assault, Fraud, Theft etc.

Does this mean the Police should not respond to your Motorhome theft, no they should, but unless live real information suggests they can stop the theft and apprehend the offender then other crimes will and should take preference.

Six coppers arrested one of their own for hurty feelings, who'd a thought it?

Several years ago, we had a break in, we got a crime number. Two weeks later our neighbour was broken into, he got a police helicopter and the C.I.D involved. The difference? We lived in a modest bungalow, the neighbour lived in a £3+ million pound house and was involved in the media. Our loss = £280, neighbours loss = £600, so it was nothing to do with the amount of money involved, it was purely about saving face.

And the list goes on and on and on...........
Do the police have their priorities right? Really? I think not.

Hands up, in general I detest the police.

But it shows the BBC report when police are injured. Surely you’re not suggesting that the BBC are anti police in any way. You may well find that other networks did not report this incident. These are not normal times right now.
If I had to explain to you why the BBC did not report on this incident (and certain other noteworthy incidents), then this thread would probably get pulled by Admin. The BBC is not anti Police but it most certainly is anti. I would be surprised if you honestly don't know.

You may be frustrated, but try being a police officer who risks their safety to apprehend these scumbags only to find that they are sentenced to carry out community work, or jailed for six months and released in three. The police are even more angry than the public in the justice system that lets both them and the public they serve down. It’s common knowledge that you can shoplift with impunity, shop owners now refuse to press charge, due to lack of effective convictions, and the costs involved in prosecuting them.
Many police officers suffer from PTSD, it’s rife within the service. Anyone who reckons policing in the UK now is some kind of cake walk simply is ignorant of the facts.
Can you imagine having to deal with someone who has just murdered someone, treating them with kid gloves after witnessing what they have just done. Or dealing with someone who has just sexually abused a child. There are two jobs I could never do, one is a police officer, and the other is a prison officer.
As for this thread going of on a tangent, I beg to differ. The OP questioned (quite rightly) police response, and we have been discussing it.

Spare a thought for the people involved in end of life care. Surgeons who are not able to save a life. Morticians who have to rebuild shattered bodies. Nurses who treat the most horrific body trauma, vets who put much loved pets down. Soldiers who kill for king and country. Firemen who..... don't need to spell this one out to you Bill.
Like coppers and prison officers all the above know what they are walking into and yes, it's very sad that some can't take the strain but the above has nothing to do with poor policing. It is poor vetting, mismanagement and in some cases criminality within the force itself.

Anyway, we are off on a jolly soon, hopefully I won't get yanked by the Fuzz and probed back at the station. 🤪

Have a good weekend one and all.

You don’t need to explain anything to myself, everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if you don’t agree with them.

Sorry Ral, but I never had a clue what I “walked” into when joining the fire service. I still can’t get certain things I witnessed out of my mind. You don’t know how you will react to certain things until you have to witness them, or how you will deal with them. Luckily I manage to, but some others did not.

Here is the correct report on BBC.
On the website but NOT on the 6 o'clock or 10 o'clock news programme.

What they have also kept quiet about was the apology a News presenter had to give Nigel Farage because of the language she used to describe his words (he was actually quoting verbatim from a speech made by Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland and former president of the European Council).

STOP PRESS : It is understood that Lord Reeth is spinning in his grave. :ROFLMAO:

As you don't watch BBC then you will have missed the live on air apology.

No I have not watched BBC. There are other News Channels which have reported on these things and report fully.

When a News Channel only features news stories that it deems should be shown, then it is controlling the narrative that suits its own agenda. Similar to what Channel 1 does in Russia. The BBC is similar in this regard.

If it were not for my Wife wanting to watch live terrestrial TV channels, I would have cancelled the TV licence a long time ago. Many people already have and still are despite the thousands of people taken to court by the BBC and given a criminal record. Click the link and look at the ages of the mostly old women who are dragged in front of a Judge.

Not an ounce of compassion is shown by the BBC.

Checking online it seems that ITN, Chanel 4 and various newspapers have apologised to Nigel in the past. The beeb are not alone.

All news outlets decide what they wish to report. It’s impossible to report on everything that’s going on in the world at anyone time. And currently with the Trump issue, the election, Ukraine and Gaza, there’s not much time left to report other issues that may normally have been reported. As for the licence issue, I don’t agree with having a tv licence, but there are ways of watching tv without requiring one.

But the fact remains you stated they never reported this issue, and has been shown they did. How they chose to report this issue is dictated by what’s going on in the world. I am sure it would have been reported on tv in normal times. But these are not normal times.

There are none so blind who don't want to see.

Anyway, you must have read my link and found it untruthful and just a pack of lies. Oh well.
