BTW, I would strongly recommend you get GAP
insurance. The last pricey car I bought I looked at and considered GAP. The car was stolen 18 months after I bought it.
Stolen from inside a locked workshop - GAP
insurance is not just for careless drivers, a loss can happen to anyone.
I couldn't actually remember if I took it out or not but when I scoured my emails, turned out I did, thankfully. Got back what I paid for the car, saving me an approximate £9k loss, plus the GAP
insurance also paid the excess, so the GAP cover even paid for itself in that respect.
Used a company called ALA -
https://www.ala.co.uk/ - and found their service absolutely top notch. They are also a lot cheaper than any car dealers GAP
insurance.
Paid out my claim with minimal delay and fuss. When I bought another car, I got another policy with them, and when I changed
that car early, I took out
another ALA GAP policy (I forgot about having the GAP
insurance again!) and they called me to check if I changed cars or bought an additional one and as I had changed cars and no longer had the old one, refunded me the old policy cost pro-rata without any asking.
