LPG stations

Your spreadsheets etc wouldn't have done you much good in Cornwall a few weeks back. There was literally one LPG pump operational in the entire county. Not sure now. Maybe two.

Exactly. Snap. We have had to resort to it on this trip as well. Works quiet well really. Just wish Swift hadnt made such a massive van with a tiny gas locker.

Both. 2 x 6kg max. It is what it is. 1 x 6kg Gaslow in summer with no heating on will last two weeks at a push then you either need to fill up or swap to Calor. The alternative is a 21 litre Alko chassis tank at about £1500. Not worth it.

Don’t forget with underslung tanks the quoted sizes are the total capacity, in use you only get 80% of it, unlike cylinders which are always quoted 80% capacity

I think we get 22 litres with 1 x gaslow and 1 x Calor. Enough for four weeks off grid but of course the idea is not to ever use the Calor if you can help it. I might get Charlie to fit another 6kg Gaslow for Europe next year though as the Calor would be useless once empty. Unless of course I can fit a connection for a Euro 6kg bottle.

Then you have to carry a MT cylinder around or pay the rent on a new one.

6kg Calor Gas propane bottle is £32.00. The new bottle price is £81.99.

Was it Charlie quoted £1500? Thought it was less than that but different models are different prices as size and fittings as well as time varies.

Probably better to get the pigtail and adapters to take the foreign bottles, Charlie has those as well

Why? Leave Calor cylinder at home if it might be required again in UK.

Yes. It was something in that region, maybe £1400, can't remember. Anything that is for Alko is expensive apparently. As it didnt give me much more gas I thought it was a waste of money.

I passed a local Shell station today, Autogas @ 129.9ppl :eek:

Install oil showing same @ 89 pppl, but that was a price date August. What the heck is going on, prices are rocketing!!
