Do we have a right to park or not

I suppose he has achieved what he set out to achieve as we all keep clicking on it. I would like to write down every word spoken by the Police in that video and post it here because I really can't see that they have done anything particularly wrong apart from maybe some clumsy wording, yet people are calling them fascists etc. in the comments!

Its happening more and more Rob in social media. People deliberately posting stuff they know is going to be controversial and its purely to get clicks / views but its often staged, fabricated and one sided without the full story. In essence they go out deliberately to film and stage something they know will cause debates like this, anger, arguments and of course generate traffic. I normally ignore it and don't care but I do in this instance as its damaging and harmful to the motorhome and particularly our wild camping community.

You are quite right of course. Its worked in this case and we have helped by watching it and commenting on it. I didn't want to watch it for that reason until another member insisted I did. We have been reeled in! However I think its worth it as maybe we have made people think with our comments on YouTube.

After him getting personal I made my last reply this morning.
Everyone on here knows how I feel about how we are treated.
I have more than done my bit on our behalf.
I have been involved in having barriers taken down at Kilmahog, been involved in what’s going on in Fife.
I have attended meetings where I have put forward out POV in a constructive manner, even persuading detractors to look differently towards us.

What he is doing is making matters worse, hopefully through ignorance, and not for personal gain, but sadly I think that may well be what is driving him. He and his like are damaging our cause, not enhancing it in any way. It’s really frustrating when people behave like this.

@williamhurley8407 we have less places to park because people like you accept councils tell you, your not allowed to park on public land. Yes public land. That you me and every one else owns. Thats why its called public land. We own it but not allowed to use it, without the people we employ, yes we employ the council, but they fine us for using our own land. And the people let them. Thats why we dont have places to park. I ha e proven time and time again the reasons the council ban motorhome parking are lies. No fire, no littering, no damage, and just like this fine, no anti social behaviour. Don't follow what you are told, look to see if its true with your own eyes. Until you have proof. Then we will get out parking spaces back.

People like me communicate with local councillors, attend meetings when our rights are challenged, encourage people to look at as differently. People like me have done our bit in greatly improving things in Scotland with new Aires and elsan points being created every month, whilst people like you damage our reputation with your click bait videos. I just went back and looked at past videos and there is shall we say its quiet high with the screaming headlines on them.....

The irony is as well they are in separate vans most times it appears, so two spaces!

I think there are a fair few of us on here and other sites etc that have done bits n bobs too forward our thoughts to the issues that seem to be out there.

Sadly I guess, like life / van life and you tubes the minority can mess it up for the rest of us.

I've looked at afair number of anti police videos on tube, in the vast majority the victim goes out of their way to be obstructive and rude and then complains about the officers reaction. A few polite replies to the officers questions and it would be over in seconds.

Thats the other thing. They are way too long. 27 minutes!!!! I'm just not sure why I would give up 27 minutes of my life to people I don't know who are probably not going to tell me anything I don't already know. Again the reason they are so long is the YouTube algorithm favours longer content these days. So you get a 15 minute video on how to change a spark plug or how to format a hard drive (bad examples) when it could be done in 3 minutes.

Who was that bloke on here years ago that went around campaigning for our access rights by wildcamping all over the place where he shouldnt have? I think it was probably over a decade ago. It caused all sorts of controversy both on here and elsewhere. I think he went and parked in car parks where there were no overnighting signs saying the weren't legal. The result was they made them legal with TROs. I know he did more harm than good in the end and there was a massive bust up about it on here. This bloke sounds just as bad.

I can't remember his name either Barry, and I don't think his name is allowed on here because he wanted to take legal action for slander or something like that.

That's the problem these days as well, criticise somebody and you may well end up in court!

Barry I try to make people see us differently.
Not agitate people and make matters worse.
His video is anti police, uses excessive exaggerations in language.
The police in this country are stretched to the limit, actually beyond the limit.
Don’t get me wrong I hated the way they were used against our miners in the 80s, it took me years to get over that, maybe I never will.
But in my job I came across some really good police officers, whom I have the utmost respect for.
This guys video is damaging us, I have no doubt about that, even if it is well intended.

I know what you mean, we’ve ran out of gas and can’t find any, or possibly the create a fault in their van that does not exist. The best one was when they said they lost the screw cover for their toilet cassette and could not use their toilet. It was obviously put there to create interest. But this guy and his type are damaging our reputation, and that’s a whole different ball game. If you read the comments they’re nearly all anti police, and supportive of what he is doing. If I hated us and read those comments I would be at least relieved to read that not all of us think like this, that some of us do actually care about how we may affect local people.

Also some technical channels are really good, I can honestly say that I have learnt a lot both from being on here, and from watching some excellent technical channels on YouTube. Don’t forget that Phil has made some excellent videos on his channel, there is some really good stuff on there. And even the poor stuff is pretty harmless. What this guy is doing is not harmless.

Judging by your inability to fix anything properly, and having to bodge everything, I think it would do well.
