We won't normally park up if we can even see a house within a few hundred yards.
If you skip to 8:10 - 8:50 in the video he shows a layby directly in front of a row of houses and says there is no sign forbidding parking - that layby looks clearly for the use of residents to park there cars and shouldn't really be considered. The chained edge of the green in that section seems to be on a very narrow road and they show large motorhomes parked against those chains the night before. You need to watch it.

If they are condoning that then no wonder we get a bad name with the residents!
Same as....We won't normally park up if we can even see a house within a few hundred yards.
I bet not.Same as....
I just don't think it's considerate
I don't think it shows us in a good light
AND I don't want anyone staring at me out of their window.
As much as I see Barry and Robs points about inconsiderate parking and their assertion that the YouTuber may have deliberately provoked the situation, as you say what’s important here, is not what people think but the law. The primary duty of the police is to uphold the law. If these people did not break any law then why were they moved on and fined. Also the other Motorhomes involved and the retired journalist are not as far as I am aware YouTubers. It may all be inconsiderate and not anything we would do. But if what they are doing is not against the law then like it or not the police should leave well alone.
I do they leave here with all the wagons horses etc and we get peace for a while.Reading this it makes me glad we`ve given up motorhoming.
As for Appleby Horse Fair if anyone has not experienced it or had dealings with the traveller community then they haven`t a clue on what really happens.
Rob and Barry are right in the fact the vid is about as clear as mud and totally disjointed for a supposed video maker. My comments are just about the abuse of peoples rights. Not whether I consider someone has done something morally right or wrong. Personally I think the man is a nob if he couldn't see that grief coming at Appleby. As much as I see Barry and Robs points about inconsiderate parking and their assertion that the YouTuber may have deliberately provoked the situation, as you say what’s important here, is not what people think but the law. It will be interesting to see what finally comes from this, because I don’t reckon he will take this lying down, and he will report on his channel.
It’s ironic, this man has fought diligently on our behalf, and has in the past actually did some good work. But it now seems that what he has done may prove to be counterproductive. Yes it’s ok saying that you are within the law, but this comes with responsibilities and common sense.Rob and Barrys are right in the fact the vid is about as clear as mud and totally disjointed for a supposed video maker. But once they take a Right off you, you are never getting it back.
A bit like a few others if I see something titled like Van life I give it a swerve. It’s ironic, this man has fought diligently on our behalf, and has in the past actually did some good work. I have confessed my ignorance of this event in earlier posts, but after some due diligence I would never visit this place at this time. Akin to taking your van to the Isle of Man for a wee tour whilst the TT is in full swing, utter stupidity.
And that’s a real shame.
