Let’s put this event and the troubles it can create to one side.
What this highlights is the lack of joined up thinking that’s required in our country.
Currently we are at the behest of local councils, some of whom treat us poorly, whilst others bend over backwards to accommodate us, even when their efforts are rewarded by selfish stupid behaviour by some of us, as we have seen in Fife and other places.
In Scotland I am pleased to say things are slowly improving, on a recent trip we found new Aires, and several elsan points that until recently never existed. One Elsan point in a park in fort Augustus which I will add to our POIs if not already done, really pleasantly surprised me. They seem to be cropping up all over the country, thanks to the efforts of some including CAMpRA.
But we simply don’t WC outside of Scotland, it seems to be to much hassle, and I am fearful of upsetting anyone. When in England and Wales we use sites, Aires, or CLs.
I honestly think the government need to get to grips with this, it needs to be dealt with nationally.
It’s been handled nationally in other countries why not here.
And yes Portugal have banned WC, but they have hundreds of AIRES where you can park legally, we don’t.
