Clean air zones

I get AA and have a blue badge and I am entitled to nothing, in England, I'm fine anywhere in Scotland (y) 👌 even in the van.
The car I think would be exempt too, but it won't be going up there.

.......

Don't you just love a country that can organise stuff properly.
ooh yes . . . . which country would that be, then?

Isle of Man is pretty good. When I lived there the medical services were immediate and wonderful, and so were the Police. No MOTs for vehicles bought new or imported less than three years old. No emissions rubbish. 'no' illegal immigrants, if they see someone suspected of that arriving on the ferry or plane, they are asked for their work permit, if they haven't got one, they are put back on the plane / boat they just arrived on. No unemployment benefit rubbish - they do have it, but you have to prove either disability or that you have lived there for three years, and show them the job applications you have made each week. And of course apart from near 100% employment (and probably because of it) the income tax is low. When I was there you had to earn £50k before you even started to pay the starting rate of 8%.

Does anyone know if the recently passed LEZ increase in London will include the M 25 ?

Where there may be problems, are if M25 is blocked and you are diverted into LEZ
ISTR questions being asked about exactly this situation when the LEZ was put in place. Although I can't find a reference, motorists following a prescribed diversion route should not be penalised -- but that, of course, depends upon TfL 'playing fair' 🤷‍♂️

Previously if you where diverted into LEZ you would get a PCN which you then had to appeal, I suspect the same will happen again. The M25 is often closed and this is likely to lead to thousands of appeals each time.

If diverted into a zone for any reason the only safe option is too go online and cough up then ask for a refund
Waiting for a PCN probably isn't sensible because at a minimum you will have to pay that to get the system off your back which will always be more expensive (sorry I meant extortionate)

You are still reliant on the automated system deciding if you are worthy of being considered innocent.

Very important to remember with all congestion zones you are guilty until you prove yourself innocent but the automatons behind the system will not provide you with the information they have on file to prove your innocence.

So far it doesn't. If M25 is blocked, go back the way you came, until further notice.
I got caught on a diversion from a blocked tunnel and the police told me to go via Blackwall tunnel. I did that and got caught but a warning was issued. My new van is Euro 6 and allowed into all ULEZ, EXCEPT BRISTOL where it seems it is not compliant??????
The M25 all the way back around is the official diversion, which really makes sense with hundreds of vehicles going 120 miles around and upwind of the City.

As mentioned I got onto my MP, Total waste of breath. It is going to get much worse for our hobby too.

He opposed the 20mph limit in Ikley too, they are going ahead with it so the man has no teeth just lots of hot air.

For the present if you get any pan from ULEZ just refuse to pay. Until they have redone the signage it’s been ruled illegal
