I'll get shouted down probably, but a parking place is a parking place, use it or not, if not someone else will, most will be empty at night, so a few campers staying ONE night should never be a problem anywhere ever, leaving a mess etc is a different issue of course but no actual proof that it a camper/MoHo doing it.

The main issues arrive when it’s a lot more than a few campers staying one night.

Let’s not forget that there is proof that Motorhome’s have left litter, and much worse, along with unsociable behaviour. Is it just them; no. But do some do it; absolutely.

Banning Motorhome’s won’t cure litter, but it will cure the litter left by Motorhomes.

Who mostly we have observed pick it up and bin it or take it with them as do we , so in effect saving the bstds money.

I’ve seen some Motorhome’s leave litter, some not. I’ve seen a few Motorhomes pick up litter, most don’t.

To be honest the litter is only one of the issues and not the major one.

Yes, litter can blow in from fields and the roads, and yes I've seen van leave their crap behind, pikey mentality, emptying cassettes is another we've seen, they park at the edge and put the cassette out of sight but you can see and smell it under the vans.

Given the pressures of the state of our roads, housing supply and cuts in first line services, you are dreaming if you think local councils have the financial means or desire to put motorhomers' interests ahead of those in need of essential services. I don't think the situation will change anytime soon as the number of vans will continue to increase as other countries put measures in place to prevent perceived over-tourism.

I’m not sure the local councils have created the problem. Thinking that is an example of the entitlement we seem to constantly display.

The problem is created by Salesmen selling a ridiculous dream. By naive purchasers who bought a van without knowing how and when to use it. By dreamers who keep comparing us to other countries without accepting that all countries are different, yes.

Overcrowded parking is the fault of motorhomers demanding a lifestyle that isn’t provided for, by those ignoring the rules and by the anti social behaviour of entitled scuffers.

The councils haven’t created a problem, but they are the ones who can help solve it.

M homes should be able to park as cars do as they pay rd tax, but why dont councils at some carparks or aires put up signage stating 48hrs max stay, no outside camping equp ie tables chairs awnings no firepits or empting cassettes, fine £500 or van removed.
In some places a cassette empty & fresh water facility could be sorted, in these a £5 charge and camera n plate rec could be implemented,
Post the bill or next time you tax it could be added, all simple to sort if councils/veh tax autorities got of there ass.

The big downside of that is that they will want to make as much money out of us as possible where we are allowed to park.
