  1. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

UPDATE We were told recovery would be today Monday. Don't quote know why they couldn't recover us before as trucks break down 24/7. Chased recovery 4 times before I got to someone in Technical with a brain. He said we should be recovered today. And that rather than go to Halo in Portsmouth for...
  2. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

6 bottles 25% off atm. Taken advantage of it.
  3. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

Thanks. The girl at customer services said she'd sort it. Added us to the allowed number plates list.
  4. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

OK. So I was being over confident and drove off the tarmac into the verge. A bit of a drop, but nothing compared to some pot holes. Heard a big bang and steering went really hard, difficult to steer back onto the tarmac. Pulled over to check. All looked OK. No restart as fuel cut off had been...
  5. Motorhome Storage

We need a new storage facility from autumn next year. Our insurers stipulate Cassoa Gold. Two sites near Chichester ... one flooded previuosly, the other c. £75 pm, so the option is, as the op suggests, to travel!

  8. Broken Dometic Fridge Shelves?

Not any more! Complained to a friend about the cost of replacing the waffle shelves. Must've replaced twice already at great cost. They are not designed to be load bearing. I've a solution, said David. He's one of our Turkey lockdown friends and had a glue for everything. He even mended a...
  9. Poland etc in a 4.4ton motorhome

No toll in Poland. Most of the motorways are free. We went on one that was fee paying for over 3.5ton. Tried to pay online. When I contacted the toll organisation, I was told it only applied to freight. Don't remember tolls in Latvia. Lithuania or Estonia. Was there late summer last year.
  10. Transit through Switzerland

We transit CH regularly in car and moho. Really easy. Buy annual vignette or >3.5 ton 10 day pass at the border. Sadly no such thing as a day pass.
  11. Maps.me alternative that actually works - Organic Maps

Ditto.. Using Maps.Me for years. But switched to Organic Maps. I was told its creators are the ones that sold Maps.Me. So the interface is very similar.
  12. Repatriation to UK

A friend tried to extend her 90 day stay. Van repair. Insurers wanted to fly her, but she has a dog. She had to get a letter from the garage. Took that to the Mairie, who have her another letter. Police, who make the decision, said NO. Apparently, it is down to their mood on the day. She...
  13. Repatriation to UK

Ouch! Glad healing has started. You could be in worse places! Do keep us updated on how it goes. KandJ
  14. Battery restart charger

Thank you all. Ordered the solar trickle charger suggested by Witzend. It's a good price. 😊
  15. Battery restart charger

Thanks David, but it was £85 and I'm looking for cheaper. Hope all good with you in sunny Scotland.
  16. Battery restart charger

Sorry not really motorhome related. We have a 5 ton lithium battery restart charger for the motorhome. Works brilliantly, as have used it on our Greek car. This newish car went flat after only 8 weeks being unused! We are leaving the car in Greece for 5 months whilst we travel back to the UK...
  17. Trip to France

Hi. Did the Normady beaches a few years ago. This book really made our trip...
  18. 13 year old driver

James' father used to go to Gaelic football all across Ireland. So J's mother taught him to drive. He used to have to drive his father home when the bar finally closed. James was 13. Illegal even back then.
  19. Tyres

We've had 2 Michellin Cross Climate fitted to the front. Reckon quieter than the Michellin M&S we had before. And much better traction.
  20. Insurance for Morocco

I heard that Starling or is it Sterling Insurance will. But not checked it.
