Pros and Cons of Fulltiming

Soooo,
What to do now with My new found wealth 🤔.

Just in process of going back to fulltiming again, house sold just waiting on contract to exchange.
It's not the first time for us .we did 4 Yr pre covid .

Love the way you obscure the registration number in # 480, and then as soon as you get the cash reveal it in # 481.

Seriously, sorry to hear your news.
Will there be another boxy ?

Why not a used engine from a right off and fit it, not handy at the side of the road mind you, hope you get sorted soon, good luck.

Sooo,
Probably one of the BIGGEST ’Cons’ as a Full timer would be,
What to do if you break down in your home on wheels.
Well, Those that know me ALSO know that I lost my Beloved ’Nest’ a few years ago in a Flash flood in wales that resulted in me being Air lifted out of the Torrential waters by Brave People in a helicopters.
As you can imagine, As a Full time Livaboard I lost ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING I possessed in just one night.
so I was Homeless, had only the clothes I stood up in, & Had to THEN deal with the first’COVID’ lock down enforced just a few weeks later.
Yep, Tough Times.
Well, I’ve now lost my replacement Home ‘Boxy’ due to a Catastrophic High pressure Fuel pump shredding itself putting Veins & shrapnel throughout the Entire fuel system into the Injection Pump & injectors themselves let alone all the pipework, 3 different garages assessed & Quoted,
ALL was between £6-6.5K to fix with a warning of associated works that ‘Should’ be done at the same time including Turbo & alike.
So, I’m in a lay-by in the West of Scotland, with a Catastrophic Engine failure that isn’t covered on insurance, 🤔.
So i bought a tent & Scrapped ’Boxy’ for a King’s ransom in Donuts of just over a hundred pounds & lost ALL my stuff for a second time in just a few years.

Sorry to hear this but! One consolation is three months ago this lay-by had two short eared owlets jumping around the rocks,
Hope you get sorted and are back on the road soon .

Can you not get it towed somewhere and use it as a static whilst you evaluate your options?

The figures you have quoted for repair seem very extreme. A replacement engine should be a serious consideration.

Makes sense, but too late it seems.

I absolutely LOVE this Site/Forum & the people on it.
Thanks guys 🥰.

Sooooo

I’ve bought this Van 🤣🤣🤣
It’s a Vauxhall Movano, & Was a little more than I should have paid for it, But it was Delivered to me with 12 months MOT & with a 6 Months Warranty.
So the umpteen conversion will begin as soon as I take a position (That’s sorted as well 👍) to earn some money to put into it.

👍😊

I love my zombie existence 😊
