Vehicle average MPG ?

Not really sure how many mpg, and to be honest not really sure I care.

I’m sure it matters to some, but the van I want is the van I have, so it costs what it costs, it does more mpg than my 4x4 and less than my EV
That's pretty much how I see it nowadays, the price had got so silly last year it was too scary to contemplate doing two thousand miles in a couple of weeks I stopped keeping the receipts it is a cost of having it and although I would rather it was less it's a cost of the hobby.

I'd prefer if it did more MPG rather than Less, but I wang it into 3rd at least once a day and bray the arse off it for a minute or two to keep the EGR clean ish as I tend to potter about on empty roads so that won't help.

Just back from Germany & Austria, with a mix of motorway, B&D roads and a few mountain passes. Just shy of 2000 miles returned 24mpg. Quite pleased with that.
Fiat Ducato 2.8JTDi remapped to 154bhp weighing in at 4000kg mgw

28.51mpg on the last tankful, with 416.6 miles driven, measured tank refill to refill, each stopped at the first pump 'click'. The Van was driven harder on each of the return legs from 2 Rallies because I was chasing the clock to reclaim my Parking Place before the Burntisland Fair started again, but the engine has loosened off quite a bit more as it inches towards the 20,000 miles mark after 7 years+

Depends entirely on the wind direction. Tail wind going up country last trip 34 to the gallon (computer well checked with GPS when I first had the wagon) 25 MPG on the way back into the wind. Steady 90KPH (on motorway) in both directions.

You'd soon miss a low first in places like the alps, and many other places much closer to home.
Did some great little roads in Cornwall and Devon last week where a low first would be handy.

Lucky me, I got a low range, into 5th at about 12 MPH 😂

I was in Cornwall and Devon last week as well Mark. Certainly some interesting roads down there.

True but my van sites at mid green rev counter at 56mph, id rather it was 65mph at same revs, diff was changed from a 8/41 to a 11/43, a 12/41 would be ideal but hard to find these days.
