WOT WHISKY

I like a real ale as much as the best man, certainly not scared of them. But when I go out it's generally for 12 hours in the pub. If I drank the so called craft beers for that long every time I go out I'd be dead by now.

I know several CAMRA men who appreciate real ales/craft beers whatever you want to call them, but they still rate TT Landlord highly and it's certainly not 'Pap' in their eyes.
Why would you be dead after drinking 'craft beers' for 12 hours?

Because typically they are a lot stronger than the 3.8 - 5% beers I usually drink. The lads I drink with tend to drink quite fast and 'in shifts' - that is some will come out from lunchtime and go home early evening and some will come out in the evening and stay until the early hours but me and one particular mate do the whole session week in week out.

Now, I'm sure you will say 'take your time then' but I'm afraid that is not in my nature and I enjoy what I do.

Not everything is stupid strong....

There are plenty of excellent session beers available..
This is the first few on the menu at my local Spoons....

Ignore the green king bit at the bottom... It's a bit Timmy Taylor lol...

At the end of the day it's all personal choice... And landlord is very popular (mind so is fosters)
So drink and enjoy

I used to drink Ruddles County when it was made in Rutland by the Ruddles Brewery it was an excellent pint back then. Same with Marstons Pedigree - a shadow of what it was years ago in my opinion.

I haven't noticed those beers in our local 'Spoons but will have a look out for them, I often end up drinking Guinness in there.

I have the spoons app and ale finder...
And keep my eye on the upcoming stuff too...
I know a lot of folks don't like the whole Wetherspoons thing...
But I have 2 about equal walking distance from me....
So easily tempted by the excellent choice of very keenly priced well kept and broad range of ales....
Plus I can even convince the other half to meet me in them for a few pints and a meal after she's finished some daft shopping trip...
I called into my local go to real ale pub (Station buffet bar in Stalybridge)
£4. 60 something a pint...

Then into the nearby spoons... £2.20 for something similar....

Our 'Spoons has improved a lot recently and so we have included it in the Friday and Saturday afternoon circuits.

I can't remember what beer we were drinking in there last week but as there were 4 of us we each bought a round in there at £8.87 a round.

Bloody hell. Thats cheap. I don't do pubs much at all these days but the last pint I had in one in south Devon back in September was nearly that much for one. :(

When I was at the Scraptoft meet earlier this year Barry, Doombar was 99p a pint in the local 'Spoons! I used to like Doombar but then Coors took it over from Sharpe's and it went downhill. Having said that though Sharpe's own was always a better pint but I haven't seen that for ages.

Some lovely 'session beers' come out of the West Country though, Gem and Tribute to name but 2.

Food in there is great value too.... Very often specials on at reduced prices too.

No wonder it's always rammed in there

Wish I could get Timmy T' s over here. I just have to improvise with the local lager and judicious doses of the local stout, Cerveja Preta.

That Rocking Rudolf looks a good bet. When the legs go you get a lift home in his sleigh. Then a black eye off the missus for talking rubbish explaining my lift home.
.... Tom ....
