Hi, normal domestic bedding for us, always have windows on vent and a 4.5 tog duvet never had heating on overnight, the heating control is right by the bed so just switch it on when I wake up.

As more upmarket, discerning, southern motorhomers we sleep under silk.

Many years ago while travelling through China we visited a silk factory and purchased two kingsized quilts.

We put these into a cotton duvet cover and the result is very naice. ( vere naas )

Regardless of outside temperature the bed stays at 98.4 ish.

Summer & winter duvet, quilt under mattress cover, blanket for weight if very cold, just on me not Jeff (And I am not 85) cant stand being cold, but don,t like heating on cant sleep, devised motorhome fitted sheet, 2 pillows for Jeff, one for me

Exactly as Jenny said earlier, mattress topper in a quilt cover then normal duvet summer or winter and normal pillows. No fixed bed but this can be made in 3 minutes or so and proves at least as comfortable as any bed at home. Quite bulky, but we store in overcab cupboard, newer vans seem to dip out on such storage space giving preference to an overcab window.

The Permanent Double Berth in the Aft cabin of The Nest has a slightly shaped Mattress, I use a King size Duvet cover to actually put the Matress in, This kinda serves as a Fittet Sheet that You don’t have to constantly wrestle with, I then have a Matching Double Duvet cover set for my Duvet & Pillow cases.
Cheap, Washes well, Dries Quickly, Standerd & Easily got hold of, & often bought in 2 or 3 sets at a time.
Interesting idea.
In the T5 I had a shaped topper, mainly to smooth out the joins from the seperate cushions, and modified a old duvet cover for that topper to go into. Hadn't considered doing that with a full mattress.

Well I just find it Easier & Cheaper than getting a purpose one made, it tends to work fine though

Looked up Duvalay.... I would have classified that as special motorhome bedding - and pricey as well! It is good that those who buy it really rate it so worth the investment :dog: (after looking at their website I am really none then wiser about it though, other than the mattresses can be bought in weird shapes and sizes?)

Normal

We just use standard bedding (duvets) on the bench seats which we replace yearly. Just bought a twin, double duvet set from B&M for £25 and 2 x 13.5 tog duvets £13 each (not worth having existing ones dry cleaned) We simply lie on on half and fold the other half (hence having a "double" each) over each of us. Works fine for us....I'm sure others do the same...Maja

I agree buying duvets these days is cheaper than dry cleaning and all the plavor getting it there

I would use any ladies bedding, unfortunately, I so rarely get the chance these days:cry:

Yes dear, kettle on dear? Right away dear.

We have always used standard bedding when we had caravan and trailer tent but have used sleeping bags in tents. The most comfortable bed I have slept on (get back ache lying in bed) had been the trailer tent believe it or not and that was just a 4" block of foam on hardboard base. That was until we were away this last weekend in mh, previous owner had put a (looks like new) mattress on the fixed French bed and its a monster. Wasn't sure how the domestic duvet would fare with a corner missing but it stayed on as well as if at home so it will continue to be standard bedding for us.

I had to Google Duvalay as well, do users just buy these as the beds in their vans aren't comfy enough without or is there another reason?

Motor home bedding

We have a wedge shaped double bed of 75mm firm foam cushions innour doblo xl. To protect my princess from the joins (and any stray peas) we have a 25mm memory topper cut to the wedge shape narrower at the foot, which is encased in a polycotton removable case like a big pillow. We use a set of domestic microfibre duvets small double, summer, autumn and both for winter. These also are adapted to the wedge shape although of course wider, and fit in an adapted duvet case. Perhaps if we did not need all storage volume we might not have bothered with that adaption.
If we are also camping we take our lightweight double top only sleeping bag and use that throughout to save having 2 lots of bedding. The top only sleeping bag is a single 4 season rab bag opened up widened with a bit of extra down but apart from the added down under-footbox there is only a pertex sheet under us, we rely on seasonal inflatable mats under us in the tent

King size domestic down duvet on fixed rear bed with domestic pillows for us.
Haven't tried the memory foam mattress topper yet but will next time out.
Great idea to put mattress into a duvet cover, hadn't thought of that before but our fitted double sheets do fit well and stay in place.

The first night out we had no heating and all of our water dumped out so we will probably keep heating on very low although never do at home.

We have a fixed bed at the back with a memory foam mattress (same make as our bed in the house) just use normal household bedding fitted sheet and duvet memory foam pillows, for the overcab bed (the grandsons) I put a sleeping bag under the sheet, the bedding is the same as ours, if its cold I have the heating on low to take the chill out of the air.

In our old Eldis van we had the usual duvet but when it was cold we had a double sleeping bag as well. Zip broke on the sleeping bag so we bought new lightweight but very warm new ones.

In our Pilote we have a memory foam topper, mattress protector then domestic bedding - 10.5 tog and/or 4.5 duvets depending on season - we used the new sleeping bags once but they were too warm even in the coldest weather!

we use a sheet bag (two sheets sewn together along 3 sides) and a domestic quilt we also use a double quilt cover below the sheet bag to protect the seat covers.

Joints in the seats/bed have never been a problem in this M/home but in our previous one they were terrible with the joints falling in exactly the wrong place!

We have a fixed bed in the van . we have a sheepskin cover on the mattress then a king size feather and down duvet over that , then a fitted sheet , we cover ourselves with a king size feather and down duvet in a brushed cotton duvet cover in winter, and a plain cotton cover in summer , it is sooooooo snug , sometimes we have a hot water bottle too, I sleep nude, my wife doesn't but I am working on that hee hee.:sleep-027::sleep-027::sleep-027:

Kingsize domestic down duvet on a domestic double mattress...
Extra width ensures cosiness even when fighting with other half and the whippets for bed space.

Mine is exactly the same as above, even down to the whippets, and our whippets always win.

Sleeping bag with a duvet cover as a liner, easy to wash when on extended trip

We use standard domestic bedding, but have a summer and winter quilts.
