Seen one of these in action, looked like a large mobile phone, started a ducato diesel on a very cold day.I wouldn’t bother, get one of the hand held power banks ,they’re amazing
Where do you find another veh in the back of beyond.May be some jump leads that are long enough to reach van jump start point , or jump from another vehicle ,
If a power bank is basically a battery in a box chances are it'll get chucked under the bed and forgotten and battery will be flat when it's needed. And it's unnecessary weight. The ones at garages or in recovery vehicles are charged regularly.
I carry a set of decent jump leads , prefer to jump from another running vehicle., but could remove the leisure battery from its hole at the rear and move it to where the jump leads will reach it. Depends on the lb state of charge, Or wait for the aa
Much more simple to just fit the relay and switch, this dont go flat and no moving of batteries which may require shutting down solar panels to save the regulator, never understood why folk like to do things the hard way when there is a simple fit and forget method. If a power bank is basically a battery in a box chances are it'll get chucked under the bed and forgotten and battery will be flat when it's needed. Mine’s about the size of a 1970’s mobile phone ,it started my van last September in Cornwall and it’s still almost fully charged. If a power bank is basically a battery in a box chances are it'll get chucked under the bed and forgotten and battery will be flat when it's needed. Had this problem a few days ago . Hand held power pack wouldn't start van . Suspect it wasn't fully charged. Was parked up opposite a garage, got new battery. Power pack fully charged now !Mine’s about the size of a 1970’s mobile phone ,it started my van last September in Cornwall and it’s still almost fully charged.
If you let the power flow for about 10 mins then disconnect you will get fire in the donkey, handy with switch & relay.
No damage to liths then.
Just get another one for the vanThey weigh very little and are very compact these days. Mine holds it's charge for several months.
My problem is remembering to transfer it from the car to the van!
Just get another one for the van
