It won't!Can someone enlighten me 'cos I'm only little?
How can the two pin plug with pins which won't be any larger than 1.5mm diameter carry 5000Amps
Must admit I hadn't took the time to read the actual spec, I'd dismissed it way earlier! It probably will do 4000 A peak but for maybe a microsecond or so.There's another clue as to its efficacy:
Amperage 5000 Amps Peak output current 4000 Amps
That`s a Transet for ye,hehe.Can someone enlighten me 'cos I'm only little?Loading…

How can the two pin plug with pins which won't be any larger than 1.5mm diameter carry 5000Amps through wire that wouldn't be much good in a record player loudspeaker to some clips that look as if they would be hard pushed to hold your washing on the line?
As Cilla would have said "Worra loada Tosh"
You might as well get a PP9 and some wire you found in the hedge.
Actually I was in this situation once. I drove for a couple of hours, parked in a gravelly car park and visited the town. When I returned and tried to start my Transit the solenoid didn't even click. I found that the multi plug from the ignition switch to the engine wiring was completely burned out. Looking around I thought "I wonder if there's a bit of wire in the hedge?" I wandered around and found some. I rejoined all the wires, insulating them with sticky tape. Turned the key and vroom vroom off I jolly well went.
Once she changes her first clutch or h gasket she will have mastered itThing is though Merl we can use it for the car as well which obviously doesn't have leisure batteries to jump from. So if Julie was to get stuck anywhere even she could jump start the car quite easily and she has no knowledge of car engines/electrics whatsoever.
We do carry jump leads but it's a pain in the ass badgering people to assist with their vehicles. As I said though, our main problem is remembering to transfer it from vehicle to vehicle.
Which reminds me, must check the van battery again this morning!
Always more than one way to skin a cat Rob BUT buying and maintaining a booster FOR THE VAN (as per the original post) ISN'T the way to go IMHO.Thing is though Merl we can use it for the car as well which obviously doesn't have leisure batteries to jump from. Yep, for the car great but for the van like what the OP requested where you've got a leisure battery as a much bigger alternative supply then there's no point in buying, carrying and maintaining one IMHO.Our motorhome has been sold so this is for use with the car which is automatic in the unlikely event of it not starting due to a low battery.
For the price i'd rather be safe than sorry.

Jump leads only required IN THE VAN! (As per the original post) And then leave the power pack in the car so it's always available for Julie.
Now, I don't want an argument, but you're wrong and I'm right OK
I'd call the contracted breakdown firm, however, i have homestart etc with Britannia and when my starter battery failed completely at home it would not take a charge, britannia were rather useless. They said they'd start the vehicle but could'nt offer to fit a battery. Years previously our car battery did the same on a bank holiday weekend and our then breakdown firm came out and fitted a battety after finding the original was duff.
I'd agree with you Merl, but then we'd both be wrong!
