Weighbridges

When we weighed the Bailey we had plenty spare. Before we came through the tunnel we weighed the Rimor, 20kg over.
We were fully, loaded except for diesel.
When we got home we got the hospital phone call we'd been waiting for meaning we'd have to cut our trip short. We didn't need so much stuff after all, so when we left we were about OK.🤞

I got the new van weighed as a condition of sale. Over 1000kg available when empty, one person, third of a tank of fuel and about the same water. 700kg left on the back axle which delighted me for the scooter rack.

I did all the maths and it was all well within the limits but I've not weighed it since. I assumed as we basically transferred everything out of Hank 1 which was sub 3500kg it would be ok. Never had time. Will do it at some point just out of interest.

I wondered how it would handle with full and empty fuel etc with the bike on but it's exactly the same. Feels nicely balanced and doesn't roll around all over the place like the old one if a coach passes you on the motorway or vice versa.

A lot of them do that. The local farm one here never charged us unless you wanted a ticket. Go to Switzerland and they do it for free with a ticket on the border! :D
Do they also check your Vin plate to make sure you aren't over.

I was lucky I got my weighed in Poulton -Le -Fylde at Blackpool skip hire, they weighed both axles then overhaul weight and give me a ticket, they didn't charge me and I tried to give the operator a tip, which he wouldn't accept. I found that I was 40 kG over on the rear Axle and 30kg on the front Axle, I've now told the wife she needs to go on a diet, which wasn't a good move. That was two of us onboard, full fuel, water and gas and most of the things we take away with us, but no food or drink.

The never did I Switzerland I don't think. I reckon they were just trying to see if we were over 3.5t we got questioned about weight a few times at Swiss borders that year. I just showed them the ticket the border guards gave us the first time which seemed to satisfy them.

Hey Guys,
Weighing my Livaboard home is a yearly thing for me that I always do AFTER my yearly ‘Purge’ of cupboards (That Always seems to amaze me what I’ve put in them, & then re-Purchased because I can’t find it) Renewal of Tax, MOT & Insurance, Then a Full Service & Fluid check at a Garage, Gas Check, MASSIVE Supermarket Shop, Water Top Up, Then Weight Bridge.
Because zombies have limited Brains, I like the idea that I don’t have to waste future Donut eating time through out the year on other things.

Yeah it can be an expensive Month of around the £1000 - £1200 mark, But I do Budget £2500 per year for ALL Running costs including fuel & Gas for my Livaboard home, (Together with a Rolling £1000 safety Net to call on if required for emergencies).
