Finally got to fly over to Ullswater this morning, roads dead quiet, 45 min but everyone had decided to bring Kayaks! (To my lake!!). Every single layby was full of cars and Kayaks. Got parked next to the lake at Glendridding steamers this morning and got out on the lake. Bloody lovely if a tad too warm and finally after months I managed to get in the water for a swim but bloody hell it was still pretty cold!
The good thing about Ullswater is its massive so once you are out on the water its easy to find your own bit of lake and go ashore somewhere private. Ice cold Leffe afterwards on the tops followed by some Cheese purchasing in Penrith (except they had next to feck all) followed by finally for the first time since March Fish n Chips from Barney!! Only trouble was the aircon has broke in the car so we had half an hour out on the scooter when we got back to cool off.
