Don't know about your tomtom, but I have a GPS driven HUD on my dash to give an easy to see speed readout.

Out of the box, it reads precisely 7% high. You have to delve into the config settings to get it to display the accurate speed.

This has its downsides. Every time you pass a speed camera, there are always cars in front of you slowing down to well under the limit. I assume they believe their speedometers.

Most speedos read about 5% high, so if it said 70 you were doing 66.5.

If the dimensions are as stated, the radius of your tyres was 549.75 and is now 575.15 so at an indicated speed of 70 you're now doing 69.57mph.

My speedo is about 25mph out as i changed the gear ratio at the back axle, so an electronic satellite speedo was fitted, mot testers never caught on.

Yeah I have had that but luckily I managed to slow a lot under the bridge they were on and camera only displayed 98mph so o avoided a ban. Nice policeman also offered me a choice of court or instant fine so only cost £30 and 3 points as well

I get about 33mpg out of my Peugeot Boxer with the underpowered 2L engine - however I've been driving very light footed as of late (rarely over 60). It's worse on one particular road - the A68 down to Newcastle and back than up to Edinburgh and back - probably due to the twisty hilly nature of it all. I have once or twice checked by hand and it's a little less, so I think the on-board computer is a little enthusiastic about trying to keep you happy..

The speedo is only a guide and set to overestimate your speed, I use the satnav to give a more accurate idea and it also tells me the speed limits more or less for when I fall asleep.

I've always tended to fill at 400 miles too unless we're headed to somewhere where there are less places to fill.

I like the MP£ idea trouble is prices are unstable in the UK so it's fluctuating all the time.

I'd like to see have a crack at the spreadsheets mentioned if anyone want to post them or a link.

That's why I like to see how these fuel price changes impact on my MP£

I can try and send you a copy of the SS I use on my recently acquired car though I have no idea what it will look like when you open it your end.

I like spreadsheets, I have one from an old facts member on aires etc which opens in google street view, very cleverly done, I made my own copy of the old Simplex accounting books, happy to share via PM.

My spreadsheet has a row for each refuel, Kev, automatically calculating the tank mileage; I then enter the number of litres, and the price per litre, and the spreadsheet calculates the mpg, miles per litre, and cost per mile for that tankful, These figures are then picked up by the 'Expenditure Category' section of the spreadsheet for the current year to give a cumulative total mileage, total fuel used, total cost Year to Date, and cost per mile YTD. This in turn is picked up by the Costs from Date of Purchase section of the Spreadsheet to give a cumulative total of gallons purchased, total cost, average cost per gallon for the life of ownership, and a forecast of the annual mileage I'll cover in the current year. 'Because it can'

I wasn't, Trev. As I explained to the nice Officer, I was loitering within Motorhome, so shows how much he knows ... And anyway, I wasn't loitering, I was in the bathroom parking my breakfast, and some days take longer than others. That's one of the drawbacks of camping stools ...
