Trustpilot Review Request

Yes i had a reaction too and promptly asked them what was the point, and that if they only post what they like I'll be distrustful of their reviews in future.

So ... I just had an email from Trustpilot asking me to take part in a satisfaction survey regarding their Content Integrity Team. I told them I was very dissatisfied with the interaction and when asked how they could have improved, wrote, "Actually read my comments sent in response to your initial notice of removal. Also, take into account that I had to enter a 2-factor code to log in, which meant my review came from a real person rather than a 'bot." Another question asked whether I trusted Trustpilot, to which I replied NO. When they asked how they could regain my trust, I responded, "You can't -- you've already blown it".
I doubt whether they'll take much notice, and I suspect it'll take a tsunami of negative feedback before they'll take any heed. Still, I had my quick rant!

I also had the survey...and also gave them both barrels. I'll get no more now though as I have deleted my account.

The thing that makes me distrust them more than anything is the potential number of "paid for" reviews that they've accepted. Twice I've had emails from vendors offering future discounts in return for five-star reviews. I reported both to Trustpilot yet they seemed to take no action as the reviews left at around the same time were not removed.

I had the idea of doing a review of Trustpilot itself as it seems to be a bit naff, there are plenty of places to do it but they seem to be data mining I can't get past this sort of thing. I don't care to join anything to give a review TBH but what is wrong with me giving my own details to the site in question, the whole ethics of reviews is a bit dodgy anyway .

I do look at reviews but you have to use your judgement a bit.

I often ignore foreign reviews as their understanding of English may misrepresent their description. If a review is very short and there are loads similar then I also ignore them.

If they are well written and have a nice balance of being critical and praising then I may take notice, especially if they include photo's.

I usually give Google reviews if prompted or Trip advisor if it's really good or bad.

I generally don't give mediocre reviews Kev, it's probably a case of can't be bothered. But if I feel strongly either way about a product then I will.

I don't mind being asked to review a product, but when pestered a few times then there is no chance.

I use Google reviews when looking for things so only fair I also provide my own opinion of goods or services, I am very honest in this as there is no point otherwise and sometimes things do get changed for the better, and now and then I get a reply from the business wanting more information if it's a complaint as some owners are not involved directly with the day to day running but keep a general eye on things.

I looked at reviews of my doctors surgery, huge mistake 1.4 out of 300 reviews, and I can see why but I looked at others and not much different, I think the biggest problem with reviews is people don't seem to bother unless it's bad.

I don't know the exact saying but it goes along the line of when someone is happy with something they will tell 10 people but when they are unhappy thy will tell 100 people. Same likely goes for posting reviews - plus when someone reads reviews they usually remember the complaining ones more as well

This will possibly end up backfiring a bit like the first time, but if anyone fancies attempting to post a review on Trustpilot on stuff I have done for them, I would appreciate it.

I have tended to ignore the Trustpilot thing after so many reviews got junked, but I recently made some changes to try and stop this happening by changing the route to do a review... Their link on my Website has been reviewed by their content integrity team (I ended up having a bit of an email discussion a while back when they didn't like I just had a simple link to my trustpilot page and used their logo, so I revised the page with their preferred coding and they checked it!)

Now it is a perfectly valid thing to do to request reviews. This is from Trustpilots own website page:

Reviews by invitation

You might have got an email from a business asking you to review them on Trustpilot. All businesses, regardless of whether they use our free or paid services, can send review invitations to their customers.

I don't know if sending an email is different to posting a request on a forum? same difference I would have thought if you are asking only those people who have a genuine experience to review?

This time however I would ask you to go via the Trustpilot Widget on my website - https://wildebus.com and scroll to the bottom of the page. My understanding is that going to their website via an 'approved' link means their should be less chance of any review rejection (I directed a customer to that link yesterday and his review has been published early this morning).

Thanks for your time reading all this waffle! (y)

Just done a review David, its now pending. I dated the work 9 sept 2024 I can't remember when you fitted the inverter.
fingers crossed it goes through OK this time.
Thanks Bill. Was end of July in fact. There is a review from you from May (for B2B install in Feb IIRC?) so that one worked :)

Just to say generally, there is no rush for anyone to do these. Whenever bit of free time and would likely be better if spread out a bit anyway the way Trustpilot seems to work?

Your review went live, Bill (y)

Interesting comment attached to it by Trustpilot which says something I was not aware of... If you review the same company more than once, the reviews are of course visible for people to read but only the latest review affects the overall score rating.

So if someone likes to review each interaction and say gives them five stars on 10 occasions, but something goes wrong last time and they only give them one star, that one star review wipes out every previous five star review as far as affecting the overall score rating :( .
The reverse is true as well, but I guess if you gave someone 10 one star reviews it would be pretty surprising as you'd have stopped using them after the first or probably second time?

Well I suppose it will keep you on your toes when you do any more work for me then David :ROFLMAO:

Done by us this morning. The system is working far better than we had hoped for even in Feb! We don't now worry about power as we now trust that by lunchtime or at worst mid afternoon we are charged up again. Great job David and many thanks again.

PS... apples need a trim annually, see you sir!
