@mariesnowgoose you use an iPhone don't you? If so add your cards, PayPal etc to the Wallet then you can do it all from your phone. I only know apple and its safe.

If you are going to be connecting to lots of free wifi (like a lot of the YouTubers do) then a VPN is worth having. I run Surfshark although only on my MacBook and probably don't need it because I am almost always connected to my own networks. I got it to allow me to spoof being in another country for streaming things.

I do all my banking on my iPhone and have done for many years now
