TomTom Truck mis-price??? £150

Good luck to all who ordered a TomTom; I hope you all receive them. Please let me know as I won't be home to find out if I've received mine.

There are always get out clauses on websites for error and omission, but it is up to the company on how they deal with them. So long as the error does not financially damage the company it is in their best interest to accept the orders as the resulting publicity is good. It is usually the very large companies that think a few odisgruntled customers are worth losing, though I can assure you they are wrong.
It is likely that this item has been priced at the cost price from TomTom so the losses are negligible, they have now been stopped and the publicity is all positive. Let's hope they see it this way too.

I saw this yesterday and was tempted. However I want the moon on a stick and would of liked it with European maps on it
 
Ooops no longer available, someone made a cockup so how many people actually bought at that price I wonder.

Aye, you've hit the nail squarely on the head.

Following a similar heads up 6 months ago - I ordered a couple of tyres from a very well known tyre website. The usual list price was £125 each............ and they were being offered @ £35 each :cheers:.

My order was placed, and the order and price was acknowledged by email. I was subsequently informed the tyres were on their way from Germany. Roll on a couple of days, and my debit card was then hit for the full list price. I contacted my card company and proved that my order at been placed at an agreed price, so they put the transaction on hold. The tyre company's customer service department contacted me and insisted that I paid the full list price :mad1:, they were of course told exactly where they could stick their tyres :D. The following day the tyres were delivered to a neighbour because I was out.

So I was in possession of the tyres, and the card company had placed the payment in dispute. I was again contacted by customer services who insisted that I was liable for the full amount. They were again told where to stick them, and were advised to come and pick them up at a time that suited me...... which would be a Sunday because I work 6 days a week :lol-049: at this point they caved in :hammer:

It's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil, so adopt your best grumpy old git stance and give them a run for their money and they MIGHT back off.

I should add that the company involved are a massive multi million pound corporation - I would not have adopted my grumpy old git persona if the company involved were a small outfit.

The company involved have now appeared in the adverts banner at the top of the page - presumably I'm the only one seeing it due to cookies etc............ but the paranoid side of me thinks they're stalking me and are intent on getting their revenge :lol-049:

That's exactly my view. The large companies actually employ people to specifically rip us off; from psychologists to make us impulse buy to accountants for specifically avoiding tax. It is only right that we take advantage too when we can.
I once wrote a piece about Tesco (on another forum) and was amazed at the pro-Tesco, nasty me response I received from so many people who seemed to believe big companies care about their customers as people, rather than as income.
 
I bought one because of the price, I use a Tomtom GO740 with truck software on it but I was still tempted so bought one on the 4th Oct, if I get the satnav without any cashback I will be happy but if I get cashback as well I might even stop scowling:sleep-040:
 
If i hadn`t have recently got this new Garmin i would definitely have had a go for one as i saw the post early on whilst the item on the site was still active.

I think a big Thank You :wave: should go to Private for highlighting this and hopefully several members will benefit from it.

Would be nice if any members who actually receive the TomTom came back in and say so :dance:
