In the words of Sandy (the late great Olivia Newton John) from Grease. "It turned colder, thats where it ends".
Thats all folks. Home in the morning. Finally. Been another nice day here but suddenly turned cold, windy and grey. Forecast is now rubbish next week.
I am sure Michelle will have a list of facts, costs, average nights per stopover, gas use, miles on the bike, miles in the van, how many chickens we ate, lunches and dinners out and how many bottles of Leffe Rituel and Grumbleweed I drank but for now thats it.
Quite the trip really.
My highlights this year were as follows.
Isle of Arran in Spring / early summer. Fabulous and wall to wall sunshine
Northern French Alps (Beaufort Area)
Lac St Croix and the Verdon Gorges
Pyrenees (despite the bike issues)
Salcombe area, South Devon.
The van. Its been awesome. I did wonder what it would be like on the high mountain passes but it was absolutely amazing.
The not so good
Southern French alps. Too busy
The south of France after St Croix. Mental heatwave was horrendous and bike issues. Bike replaced in September.
The rest of France on the way up I found boring.
Lots to do when we get back but for now the last few pics from Flamborough. Same time next year?![]()
