This years Epic Summer trip

Holiday season is well and truly underway again here for half term. Had a ride round Twitchen House site which is part of the same group as Easewell farm over the road where we are and its full! Getting busier on here as well. Woolacombe is busy and the dozy drivers are back on the road. Nearly got taken out yesterday. Weather is still better than forecast but windy today and cooler.

Just over a week left here then home. Possibly. :D

Michelle's new phone certainly takes better pictures than the old one she managed to drown a few days back. Lovely afternoon today. Nice ride out on the bike and some photos of Baggy point area between Croyde and Putsborough beach.

Actually I just checked and those new photos have not backed up. I have the blooming thing set to back up over any network and its not working. Will have to investigate.

Is that over any Wi-Fi network or any network whatsoever?

Decisions decisions. We have to leave Monday and we were going to go to the Lake District but the weather looks increasingly naff. However it looks somewhat better on the east coast. Flamborough head perhaps? :D Not been since Spring 2024. In fact it was the last trip we ever did in old Hank. What do you reckon?

We've been coming up the east side and it's not been bad, in Gainsborough right now and it's cracking the flags.

Thats the only downside. It will be windier in Flamborough. Always is but its better than endless Cumbrian rain which looks likely next week.

The weather apart for a couple of nights has bee good, needed the heater yesterday morning for half an hour otherwise not at all not been to Flamborough though.

Decision made. I'm not telling you though. You will have to guess.

The options were

Home
Flamborough
Lakes

With a fair wind we could be at any of them by 3pm tomorrow afternoon. They are all equally ferkin hundreds of miles away :D

Maybe, as you're so averse to driving you should get a fucking static.

Its just boring Kev. I love driving this van in the mountains and stuff like that though. Its superb but sitting on a motorway all day or driving through what Devon thinks are A roads that are really B roads is no fun at all. I've not ruled out having a static at some point in our lives. Lake District, South Devon or even the Isle of Arran would be good. I would probably have a motorcycle parked there permanently. Trouble is you would have to pick a place carefully. I can just about tolerate sites like this one for three and a half weeks but I wont be sad to leave. Michelle is though.

Ta Daaaa! Flamborough won. :D

360 miles in six and a half hours. I reckon I could have shaved an hour off that if the road from the M62 to Bridlington hadn't been full of tractors and people doing 30 in a 60! Grrrr! :D M5, M42, M1, M18 and M62 all good and fast. Used a lot of diesel though I reckon :D Got here at 2:30pm. As we haven't been in the new van and the weather looked better here than the Lakes which we can easily go to from home in less than an hour that swayed the decision. It was a balmy 16c when we arrived which for Flamborough is tropical in summer!

Too late in the year for our old favourite CL and rally field so we are on Thornwick bay which is the only option really. Its like a city. Its absolutely huge but its 90% statics with a motorhome field right in the top corner. Not as posh as Easewell where we were in North Devon. No services on the pitch apart from Electric.
