Self isolate

The rise in c-19 hospital admissions is very real whether we like it or not.

@Minisorella is right, it's up to us all individually and collectively.
Most of us managed to follow the guidelines first time round, we just need to keep applying the basics - proper distancing, strict hygiene and face masks where required. And oodles of common sense!

Bottom line: they're not particularly difficult rules to follow, nobody is being asked to build a nuclear reactor from scratch. ;) (y)

They are saying we wont return to the full blown lock down of last time. Whether that is what happens or not who knows? The key thing being hammered home is we all have to do our bit which is why I found it encouraging that the OP was firmly advised to just go home and "do the time"! The more the message gets home that its down to us to fix this as much as the government the better.

I would go a step further if I was the PM or the scientists and put the fear of God up everyone with massive fines for anyone caught breaking the rules. Draconian perhaps but necessary. Some sacrifices will have to be made and that might well be socialising and pubs etc. The next six months are going to be a bit grim but we have to face it and just do the right thing and follow the rules religiously.

They would say that. 😂
Anyway, seeing as my view differs from many, I best keep quiet.

It’s quite simple really isn’t it.

I’ll be putting the face masked van avatar up again later, just in case someone reads this thread without wearing a mask........

The numbers are falling here in Portsmouth. Should we suffer because other places are going up?
The numbers were falling everywhere but, out of lockdown, people are infinitely mobile and will quite likely visit Portsmouth one day. Numbers are slowly beginning to rise in West Sussex but everyone here in Horsham can pop out right now and get a train straight down to Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quays for a bit of retail therapy... unless they put some rules in place to say we can't do that.

We have never exceeded 11/100,000 and are currently at 8/100,000. Presumably not many people can see a reason to visit us or Gunwharf, as it now takes over an hour to get through security. The students may create a stir though

That looks as though I need to stand corrected?

If I read the post right, as long as you don't let anyone into the vehicle, and you yourself don't leave the vehicle and mix with others outside, then you are effectively self-isolating anyway?

Then there are the "exceptions" (outlined in the original extract about quarantining from the govt. website) which actually allow you to go out and shop for essentials, food and medicines etc.

So I guess its do-able. You just need a safe, secure spot to park up where you can be self-contained for the full 14 days...

See! I can be (sort of) helpful when I try ;)🙃😁

14 days without fresh milk, could always take a cow with you, dont mention the wife. 😂😂😂😂😂
