I assume it failed then because of the MOTers incompetence though.Last time i took a old motorbike to the mot the chap pulled the clutch in and said that brake is coming back the the handle.
Feed up with a car parked (dumped) in our street since December I grassed on it. I check online first and it has no MOT.
Reported it on line and this is the response:
"Thank you for your online report.
With regards to this, Police need to catch a vehicle being driven with no MOT to act on this. If you are to see this vehicle being driven, please call and report this, providing their location and direction of travel so that we can raise a live log with this information."
So seems alls ok not to have a MOT, surprised me! At least I didn't get done for wasting police time
I'm happy to pay to have someone that is not only an extra pair of qualified eyes to look over my vehicles (even the ones that are mot exempt)
Once a year
In a facility where they have the ability to inspect parts of the vehicle easily that would be a struggle at home ...
And with equipment that eliminates my 'compensating' for proplems that have developed over time ....
Having seen the state of some tax exempt vehicles ...
I personally think the removal of mot requirement was a ridiculous action ...
Absolutely. Go with your camper, leave it somewhere quiet, return home as a foot passenger if you have to return that is, then FP it back for the TT and stay. I used to live there so I know where all the fresh water supplies are and the toilets, where to stay overnight in quiet and where the best fish and chips is.
I have a spare set of IOM number plates in the garage . . . . . I wonder if I could change identities just before I board the ferry? Trouble is I can't remember what camper it was from - - oh yes, it was a Burstner. I would need some Burstner logos and stick them over the AutoSleeper ones. I wonder if any beady eyed Policeman would recognise the disguise?
In fact one year when I lived there and worked in the adjacent island (as the UK is known) I would fly each weekend. I found the cheapest way to get from UK to IOM was to book one flight from England (over the Isle of Man) to Belfast, walk across the tarmac to another planeand fly from Belfast fast to Douglas. Two flights are cheaper than one. Or were then . . . .
Back to the subject, did everyone involved have a MOT ?
UK wise ...Happy to note your view. MOT requirement wasn’t removed though. Common sense prevailed actually.
UK wise ...
MOT requirement was removed for historic vehicles ....
Common sense is a subjective term IMHO
