LPG stations

We do wash of course but a kettle in with the cold water is enough for bears, pussies of course need to be pampered more, I'd say about 0.5 litres a day give or take, but it's rare we don't just pass a pump within four or five days and just top up, the Calor is really only there for POM.

You should see our shower room. Michelle practically lives in it. Its fantastic! Maybe I should take it out and stick loads of Lithium batteries in there instead. That'll show her!

Easier for you Kev as you move around a lot more than I do but as you will know it makes no difference how much you move about if there are no pumps like remote parts of Scotland and none at all on the islands. Thats where Calor wins in the UK at least. The only area I am slightly concerned about in France is the Pyrenees if we end up high up for a few weeks. Then again we are time limited this year so it might not be so much of an issue
Just go to https://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/, tick the GPLc (LPG) box and then select département 64, after which 65 and then 66. Not many in the latter two. But also check 31 and 09. With 2x11kg bottles, I aim to fill up when the first is pretty much empty, which in 2019 took me 3 weeks into the trip and was convenient for filling up at the Intermarché at Moustajon, just north of Bagnères de Luchon in the Haute Garonne.

Thanks. I'm not too concerned about France, its more the UK its an issue I reckon and we will be moving around a bit more once in France but thats a really useful link. Bookmarked it, cheers

I filled up yesterday at A E Prentice who are at Souldern south of Banbury. They are a fuel merchant so they supply solid fuels and wood as their main business with LPG as a sideline.

Speaking to the man who operated the pump he told me they will never stop selling LPG. Even in this fairly rural area there's a constant demand he told me. They are still having new customers who have converted their cars to run on LPG.

If this is typical it would seem likely that there will always be fuel merchants selling LPG even if forecourt operated pumps have become hard to find.

This may be a constraint if you don't travel much but bear it in mind if seeking LPG on the move. Phone such a merchant and you're likely to get an answer which is much less likely with a petrol station. There are plenty of LPG selling fuel merchants on the Autogas app.

You did express slight concern about the Pyrénées. On which subject, I thought that you might be interested in https://aucasoavousinteresserait.blogspot.com/2025/06/randonnees-dans-les-hautes-pyrenees.html (ignoring the initial bit about fishing).

Thanks. Yes I did say that and as I thought LPG is very thin on the ground south of the main route across from the med to the Atlantic north of the Pyrenees. Will just have to go full and hope we haven't used much of the Calor by the time we get there.

Thanks for the link. I wrote a guide for motorhomers way back in 2014 myself
