hi yes i was using vw vans for years , my trailer is like a real luxury . i think so many of the bigger m,homes are still lacking work tops .
strangely enough another thing seems to be coat hooks . just inside the door i have a row of hooks 9out of ten say they wish they had a place for coats.
when i converted the trailer i knew exactly what i wanted and needed . other than adding a couple of bookcases nothings been altered in 12 yrs .
its 20ft long . so not as big as you might think . 7ft 6ins wide .
many these days dont even have a good dining table to be used for preping either. wouldnt be with out a dining table in a camper . so many other uses as well.
It certainly looks to be a lovely camper. 20 feet sounds about right, and hooks.... can never have enough hooks.
Our old Merc 811D was 24 feet and was just a bit too long for us, but the space inside was wonderful, and the ideas I had for refitting it..... <dream>
I loved the old tank, but we only kept it for a year. You need to be mechanically expert to keep something like that in order, if you're not you pay a fortune for upkeep.
Being a 7.5 tonne truck and a Mercedes to boot, even the parts were so much more expensive than the more regular vehicle chassis (chassises?!).
I think the only way to get the ideal camper is do what you have and build it yourself.
Everyone has different ideas on their ideal layout and it's very difficult to get exactly what you want "off the shelf".
