Hey what you mean bodgeit ???????? :hammer: :lol-053:......I wasnt going to mention this but I failed to realise the van is on a tilt facing up hill :lol-053: I didnt have a spirit level to my name so god help us when we are on flat ground think we are going to be having a few sliding plates :juggle: OOOOooooops

saucer (or plate) of water will tell you. If it comes to it, go to Poundstretcher or similar for a roll of the antislip tray covers. Only about a quid & ideal for sloping slippy tables. We use it on the boat a lot & it works when we're in waves or aground at an angle.

simple answer get a empty jar /glass half fill it with water dput on kitchen worktop at home or draw a line round where the water come up to that will give you a rough level take it to van fill up to line then put on surface and you wil have a approx level

spirit levels and vans don't go together at all, though i have to my superior smug amusement seen people using them on a number of occasions.if you think about it you'll see why. the only way to be sure is to measure up from the floor.

i actually used the word s,n,i,g,g,e,r, in that last post and it was censored, another good word destroyed by pc

Here is my end result .... my multi functional piece of wood....Its a useful worktop for when I want to be the domestic goddess :rockroll: IMG_5059.jpg notice what fine craftmanship has gone into this fine bit of tat IMG_5061.jpg. It doubles up as a coffee table across the seats ...and best of all it can also be used when one is bored on those long rainy nights to play 'limbo':banana::banana:..........

and if anyone ask no you cant use it on your late night fires !!!!!!!!!:lol-053:

i assume the doorstops are under the end on the worktop, what is supporting the other end ?

Thanks Lotty ....us women can just do it all cant we ???? ( who needs men :p ).

Oi OH ....be careful matey I got a hammer in may hand dont you know :hammer: :lol-053:

:lol-053: I have shelves for my shelves, boxes for my boxes, drawers for my drawers....I am a nightmare :scared:

No you're not. You sound like me, always looking for nifty storage and "organising" to get the most out of limited space. Just what's needed for the best in campervan living.

When you know where everything is and it's easy to get at / use, then you can just get on with the most important thing: enjoying yourself!

That must make me a nightmare too... :lol-053:

Love your table solution, by the way.

hi yes i was using vw vans for years , my trailer is like a real luxury . i think so many of the bigger m,homes are still lacking work tops .
strangely enough another thing seems to be coat hooks . just inside the door i have a row of hooks 9out of ten say they wish they had a place for coats.
when i converted the trailer i knew exactly what i wanted and needed . other than adding a couple of bookcases nothings been altered in 12 yrs .
its 20ft long . so not as big as you might think . 7ft 6ins wide .
many these days dont even have a good dining table to be used for preping either. wouldnt be with out a dining table in a camper . so many other uses as well.
