I'm tentively looking around for possibilities for our next van.

I think luck comes into it a lot with the various manufacturers but not sure why. You find people with an old low cost van that have never had a problem with either hab or chassis/engine/cab then someone spends over £100k and has endless problems.

Other than Bonnet respray( I wanted it to look better not worse 😕) I did the repairs myself, so cost are just parts. . Thinking back to the previous one, 2005 x240 chassis I can't recall any repair at all in about 30k miles 5yrs., thou the clutch thrust bearing was rattling when I bought it and still when I sold it .

Agree completely about the front dinette waste of space , not comfortable to lounge at unless you have two captains chairs that can reach it, which usually means compromise somewhere else.
I asked Chatgpt to have a go at a search, and to supply links.

Sold but love the colour

select (champagne) 122 owner and driver here, our is manual because I hate automatics but apart from that it does exactly what you ask. It's much better than the newer carrera version for storage etc. Fab van. If I were rich I might got for the Warwick duo (not xl) for apparent better build quality - but then I'd have to take out the microwave and do something about it's wardrobe. - the wardrobe in the 122 makes a fab pantry

Interesting no-one wants a microwave now. Do you like cold food or have a plan B?
Fact is still many folk say you cannot cook in a m wave but only reheat food, strange that because i can cook 90% of foods in one.
I have a plastic bown with a vented lid which is fantastic at cooking spuds in there jackets, 3 good size taties 12 mins and leave standing for a few hrs to t time and all they require is a 2 min reheat and sliced in have covered in butter or cheese and eaten with a spoon out of there jackets. :)

Oh how I laughed in the past smugly and condescendingly at microwaves in motorhomes in the until I bought one with one in. Bloody useful as it turns out. :D Well when you are plugged in of course.

ONLY vans with a Microwave in are UK build ones . How long can you eat salad for? I can run mine on the inverter OK, not haute cuisine I know but we had Pastie and Baked beans lunch in 3 minutes today, followed by kale smoothie as I felt guilty.
