Hymer Electrics

I think I've found it, at the vehicle battery end there is a 50amp fuse and piggy backed onto it is a7.5amp fuse. At the leisure battery end there is a 40amp fuse and nearby there is a 5amp fuse so maybe they have the wrong fuses in? Anyhow the fuses are good so back to square one I'm afraid.

Del

Did you pull them out and reseat them Del, I have had todo that before now?

When my electric step failed (different problem, mine was the switch not lack of power) I removed the actuating arm from the motor, pushed the step back then cable-tied it so that I could drive until I replaced the micro switches.

Did you check the power after the fuses Del, if it is OK then I would remove the EBL and take the cover off, it is simple to remove and you can check for problems in there

Mine has been cable tied back with actuator removed two years now lol

Don't forget a fuse can, look OK but still be faulty
I've tested them for continuity with a meter Bazz.
Tezza there is 12 volt coming out, I have 12v from the vehicle and leisure batteries at the back of the EBL 99
Would you know where I can test the 12v from the smaller fuses?

I am sure you know what you are doing del , I remember a member going home on a recovery vehicle after mechanic checked fuses , when they got home the fault was a fuse that was checked by recovery but was an intermittent fault

There used to be a small value fuse inside the EBL99*. If someone has swapped the 2 fuses from 2 amp to 5 and 7.5 amp then this might have popped the fuse in the EBL.

* It might depend on the year of the van as a few small changes were made to the EBL over the years.

Can't help with the specifics but just a warning to members working on Hymer 12 volt electrics. Take care with the polarity. Brown cable is neg and the blue one positive. German logic brown=ground, blue= the opposite (sky).

Blew two chargers finding out!

I don't know why but I couldn't write anything after that quote Del, it is a long time since I did mine but I remember following the wire from the 2amp fuse I think it went to the electroblok first then to the 12v switch, I removed the panel and tested the switch which was live and working, that is how I found my problem was the electroblok, it helps having two people when you are doing this obviously
Which electroblok do you have?

I found Martin that now runs A and N very helpful if you need it Del, can repair ECL/control panel as well if needed. My problem at the time was inside my EBL though and both eyes and hands no longer up to delicate repairs 👍

Have a read here Del
Thanks for the link, that's a very interesting article, a bit technical but I can reduce the work because 1. I'm not bthered about the control panel working 2. I'm not bothered about the charger and 3. I'm not bothered about split charger either. SO my intention is to try and prove each wire in the various blocks and the us a fuse box to connect the up but it's proving a nightmare to trace evrything, Hymer do like to put cables wwhere you never hope to get to with out reomving all the furniture  I've got an hospital appointment tomorrow so I don't want to mess about too much until that's all done with.

Dear Sir,

the relais will cost per piece including Tax 9,99 Euros.
The parcel will be about 13.- Euros
The fee for cash by delivery is 13,70 Euros.

Please let me know if you like to order 2 relais.

Greetings

Udo Lang.

You can buy direct from Gruner

The above spec says to the relay can be 'set' manually, looks like the green button? If you can get someone to hold the relay closed while you operated the step it would get you out the cart.
Thank you, however I have already taken the motor off the step and pushed it up using heavy duty cable ties to hold it up as suggested by Tezza (y)

Regards,
Del
