Hunmanby Gap!!!

Most councils have at least one member who is anti motorhomes. Sending them details and pics like this is just giving them ammunition to use against us.
I can understand that some people are frightened to speak to the person directly, but hiding behind cameras and keyboards is helping nobody. Why anyone would be proud enough of posting this stuff to councils to then brag about it on here is beyond me.

Thing is as well Chris anybody with a grudge against Motorhomes/Campers could very easily doctor pictures these days and I'm sure that it will happen before long, there are Apps which make this very easy now. There are some complete nobs about who will do this - mainly in the press at the moment but it will spread , I'm getting more and more for low profile stuff by the week, we're just adding to the s**t storm otherwise.

Why anybody would post on here defending someone that has dumped a casette full of toilet waste either in a hedge bottom OR bagged in a carpark bin is beyond me too....

I was at Hunmanby gap when the carpark owner was raging about waste tipped in the hedge bottom....

Clearly from a toilet casette (unless car owners/day trippers have taken to carrying portaloos and blue toilet fluid around with them (unlikely)

Personally I can't blame the owners for banning motorhomes etc....
I would have done exactly the same.
I for one would never condone anyone emptying cassettes anywhere there is not a facility. In fact I have actually spoken to a chap who was going to empty his container of urine onto the grass at a campsite.

What I cannot understand is the reason anyone would photograph someone emptying a cassette, send the pic to the council, and then brag about it, when they could have walked over and stopped them.

As I have already posted.... The sort of person that empties their cassette like that..

Is not likely to respond well (from direct personal experience)
To direct intervention....

They know perfectly well that it's antisocial behavior and are happy to carry on not giving a damn....

I'm suspicious of all Councils Chris, and with good reason!

But let's face it, most are against us and just looking for ammo against us. Don't get me wrong, these people who commit these acts deserve to be shot, but I am so disillusioned with self-serving councillors that I simply want no interaction with them anymore., and believe me I have had in the past.

Has anyone done that. In which post # has anyone defended someone just dumping sh it.
I actually meant in terms of the amount of folks on forums/Facebook etc....

That just plain refuse to comptemplate that SOME of US just aren't civilised people....

The same as the rest of society....

Sad fact IS that some folks on forums like these WILL actually do things that are pretty anti social.

Quite right.

Sometimes there is a very fine line between helping and damaging our cause but this doesn't mean that anybody agrees with this sort of behaviour.
If you feed someone bullets don't be surprised if they shoot you. Springs to mind, especially councils.

What happens on other MH forums I wouldn't know, this is the only one I use and I would like to think no one on here would do it.
I could be wildly off the mark though.

Or perhaps some "vanlifer" has bought a trendy "composting toilet" which separates out solid waste into a bag, but doesn't compost it at all.
Just leaves you with a bag of poo to get rid of.
Ummm I'm not trendy by any means but do have a compost toilet. And I guess the title of composting toilet is a sort of misleading title for the ones most use in the road and not in a fixed location.
And I certainly do not bag it and leave it for any others to dispose of and put in dog bin.

Anyone sensible enough to use a composting loo are likely to be sensible enough to dispose of their waste properly and discretely. :)

I've only been wild camping in a MoHo for 6 years unlike some of you Old Buggers, but I've never paid 1 penny to empty my cassette and I've never dumped it somewhere I shouldn't

It's really not hard to sort out, just some common sense tbh.

When I was in my early 20's and Tramping (thats long distance Truck driving) I met an older driver in a Truckstop toilet, he cleaned every sink, they used to stuff the plugs with toilet roll to fill the sink and wash/shave he explained to me get a small and large sink plug and connect them on a chain and don't be like this scum son. He was right.

I did once on the North West of Scotland go into a boat yard and ask if I could use their facilities and empty my cassette and I was told NO, when I enquired why it was explained the toilets were closed as someone else had spilt their cassette on the floor.

So I explained, no problem I'll clean it for you. And I did.

They showed me the security camera footage of the van that did it, I've never caught up with him. But I still hope to.

Its a simple issue, "take some pride in yourself and your own actions"

No. If you were close enough to photograph them, why not go and speak to them:unsure:
Because life has taught many of us that there some willing and capable of violence, and it usually goes hand in hand with wrongdoing. He did say he challenged it and was threatened.

Those doing this generally know it’s wrong and generally won’t want to get into a discussion about it.

Unless they bought a van with it in and didn’t think it through.

We’ll probably never know for sure what it was or who did it, but there’s one thing we know; there’s no group in the world where every single member of it is sensible.

Indeed I would guess most of us that use them have purposely thought it through and my thoughts were to lessent he need for campsites and emptying the cassette in a proper manor, shall we say.

Possible but tbh I would imagine they would have known about the use of.......possibly!

And aint that the truth.
"Watching" some of the "vankers " on that certain channel tearing others apart, and all the click bait headlines it reflects badly on the vast majority of us just going about our days.

Because as explained to you, you can rarely just walk over to them and stop them. You are either really naive or you’re being disengenious if you think it’s that simple. People can and do react badly (violently) when challenged. Especially the scum doing anti social behaviour. Which this is.

If you had witnessed this, gone over as you say and received a mouthful of abuse, with threats of what will happen if you don’t keep your nose out, would you have reported the van with details to the attendent? Or would you have kept quiet, not wanting to draw attention to it?

I understand your reasoning here, but I also have to say I’d have to have a word.

I reported one to the local council with photographic evidence and vehicle number. As for the "odd bad apple"? As I said, if I cave seen two doing it, then how many more go undetected? But what really stands out is the collective seem to want to divert and not actually address the problem. Whether it is one of one hundred, saying as Nabism did "(so not a van or motorhome at all, aren't they car based?) is dodging the issue. And the statement was "believes it is only one micro camper". No proof, so it could have been any camper vehicle.
So how do you think it should be addressed?
