Hank the Tanks Dodgy battery and solar system

I see. So whatever extras are connected to the current battery put the negative connections to one battery and the extra positive connections to the other ones positive post? Almost as if they were one big battery. So if for example I fit another 12v socket direct to the battery I must put one end on the negative of Battery A and the positive on the positive of battery B?
yep! Looks like all you'll have to do is swap the negative over from the old battery to the new one, the cables look long enough (y)

Yeah I think I understand it now. Will start looking at it early next week. I might just run up to the weighbridge first and see whats left on the back. I did all that before I got the van but have not been back since I fitted the rack and scooter but there was nearly a ton of payload available empty and 700kg I think free on the rear axle so it should be fine but these lead acids are heavy. Would just like to know really where we stand.

Are you sure!!? If you look at the end diagram (4/5th pic in?) there looks to be a hole which I'm assuming is the vent hole as description says :- vent hole in end side of battery. Usually the sealed part means you don't have to fill them anymore and again description says :- maintenance free. Sorry to be taxing the brain cells at this time of night!! 😉 😀 😀 Take care

I cant see where you mean. There just appears to be a picture of the battery and a few diagrams.

I thought venting batteries was something from the dark ages. I have asked Alpha for confirmation but I do notice as you say they offer a venting pipe for £4.95. The current one is not vented.
