Does anyone know of a reliable sat nav which will keep me away from LEZs (2002 dirty diesel, Crti Air 4 etc)?
I haven't got one and they won't give me one. (I have applied) It would cost me upwards of £30,000 to get one.Easy and cheap to buy,it isn't worth not having one.

The French get that sort of info from your registration # then stop youCan’t you make yourself one with a scanner and colour printer? Can’t see the French authorities stopping you simply to check your compliance.
Doesn't look that complex to me, particularly for second and subsequent applications, and providing a copy of the V5C with the initial application is hardly complicated.Probably easier to avoid judging by the relatively complex application process...
Definitely worth getting; it costs peanuts and lasts the life of the windscreen. Just ensure that you get it from the official website! The requirement to display it is spreading, so worth having for peace of mind.I remember trying to get one for my old van Hank the Tank 1. 1996 Kontiki and I couldnt get one. The Crit Air people basically said my van wasnt allowed in France.
Not sure which one ill need for the new one 2015 Ducato 2.3. I doubt ill need it anyway but will probably get one.

Can't they tell your weight going through customs, and the crit air will give it away too I think.
They will know within seconds, if they want to. If they care or not, is up to how they feel on the day.
There are always a few who won't comply, but the vast majority of MH's over 3.5 tonne comply, both French registered, and those registered elsewhere. It's certainly not true to suggest most the French don't bother with them.
I know someone with a 10 tonne ex army truck conversion, he hasn't been pulled up yet on a few trips through France, but my money is on, he'll be paying a fine one day.
If I remember correctly, the breathalyser rule only lasted a short while, before being revoked, because of supply issues. The angles morts have been in for 4 years and there is no shortage of stickers.
For the breatherlyser whilst the law compelled that they be carried, there was no law enacted to fine anyone instead the police had to inform the driver of the law, it was revoked after 8 years. If I remember correctly, the breathalyser rule only lasted a short while, before being revoked, because of supply issues. I have seen large numbers of motorhomes in France displaying the Angles Morts signage (including a few that looked as though they were probably below the weight requirement?). If my motorhome was in excess of 3t500, I would certainly not be taking the risk of not displaying them. Are all relevant locations on your motorhome suitable for magnetic signs? Mine has no steel surfaces in suitable locations at the rear. You can get magnetic ones. Maybe I should get a set but if I get to France and Im the only one using them they are coming straight off!
