Are you over 3500kg then Barry?

Not me personally but the motorhome is. 4.25t and I reckon the unladen weight will be over 3.08t or whatever it is. This was debated recently I think. Im not convinced they would know. So far Ive not had a ticket and I've definitely consistently been over the limits. Maybe not enough to trigger a fine though. Generally sit around 70 on a duel carriageway or a motorway. Legal on a motorway of course but 60 on a duel. On the way back across the A66 when we fled the Lake District in January before the big freeze I noticed a couple of times looking down and I was doing 80+ :D Its only the 2.3 as well so not exactly a powerhouse. you just dont notice it after the Kontiki from the last century.

The 2.3 is a powerful engine, totally incomparableto Hanks engine, what's the BHP though?

2500 rpm at 56mph burning 25/28 mpg, if i go to 60/65 or above out of the green band on the rev counter she drops to 15mpg. 😨

For Fred's sake, didn't you do any research???

It took me ten years to find and buy that model of van so yeah I did a bit. :D Engines an engine innit. Never even opened the bonnet. Still haven't. Service history all checked out as did the history with the local garage which just happened to be the one I took Hank to for the past few years for MOT and other bits. It could have been peddle powered for all I care as long as it had the layout and payload I wanted. :cool:

Open the hood at least twice a week, looming problems can or may be caught in time, should be part of driving lessons for road safety. (y)

What is the source?
It looks like the table that you linked to at https://www.gov.uk/speed-limits but with all the column headings moved one to the left, so that Single carriageways mph (km/h) appears above vehicle categories and no column heading above the right-hand column.

Yes you are right. I did cut and paste from that link but somehow it went wrong!

Unfortunately it's too late to Edit now, should have read;

Assuming you know what to look for. They are not made of glass these engines.

Brake flued water oil levels for a start, worn or loose fan belt, clutch cable free play if you have one.
A sudden low level of brake flued may be a burst or slow leaking wheel cyl. ;)

Please say that is a joke Barry ?

Given you preference like us for mountains ( Pyrenees and Alps ) i`d say that attitude is very nieve given how hard they can work going up the Cols etc. etc.

Oil and coolant are the lifeblood of any engine so you have obviously been very very very lucky not to have had any problems over the years.
