Driving in London

Have you been watching their exploits in India Marie? (y)

Yes. I think the two of them are dead canny (as in the Geordie meaning!). :)

Videos nicely made.
Always a good watch and time well wasted ;) 👍 😁

I see their viewing numbers have rocketed recently. Good. They deserve it.

PS. I love that little tuk-tuk ♥️

They do do very well made videos. Can only take them in small doses though, their click bait drama gets a bit much for me, but they certainly know what they are dong youtube/media wise. Don't think I could go traveling with them though, their numptyness would drive me up the wall. :ROFLMAO: All good entertainment though, and far better than TV I think. Well I say that but haven't had a TV in over 15 years so what would I know.:D

Fav utube camping channel at moment is Camper Vibe.

Their numptyness is part of the charm, you world-weary old cynic ;) 😘 😁

PS. v. impressed with no TV, good way to be.
Never had one growing up and never saw much TV at all until I left home at 18 👍

Unfortunately she doesn't have a blue badge.

A ridiculous situation in that her doctor said if she lived a few yards down the road (ie. in Cambridgeshire) she would get one with no qualms whatsoever but not so in Bedfordshire.
Sorry to hear this especially as in the post this morning for myself was a blue badge.. applied in November last year with Gloucester Council.

I had to go into London by car today (near Clapham). Typing in my vehicle Reg on the TFL site I am informed that I need to pay the Congestion charge and the ULEZ charge if I drive within those zones. It doesn't mention the LEZ (Is that just for heavy goods vehicles?).

Where I went to is inside the ULEZ and LEZ but outside the Congestion charge. My problem is that en route to the address I do not know if I might have gone into the Congestion charge zone.

So, my question is, is there anywhere I can check (like a website that will have recorded my vehicle registration in the zones), or is it simply a matter of paying both the ULEZ and Congestion charges just in case I have strayed into the Congestion Charge zone? Surely the technology is there, after all the reg is picked up by ANPR so the information must be available on a database somewhere to reference?
I drive to and into London 6-10 times a year. I used to log in and pay the charges, sometimes just the ULEZ sometimes both when I have to go into the centre.

A couple of days ago I made a mistake on the day and was fined. Sorted out but since then I registered for automatic payment. That is you register your CC and whenever a camera picks you up it deducts payment. You get a statement with times and dates once a month.

BIG ADVANTAGE I am not always picked up especially visiting a daughter JUST inside the North Circular (the boundary for the ULEZ.

It would be interesting to see the camera configurations at entry points.
There is a camera anpr on the Dublin M50 toll. People often manoeuvred to be behind a high sided truck or similar vehicle and then simply tailgated it until you passed the toll point. Eventually the authorities installed extra cameras to read the rear number plates of vehicles as well.
Is there no ‘spirit of france’ in some of the British cities? Do people not paintspray, burn or otherwise express their dissatisfaction at the cost of living?
