Drink Driving and Scotland

A while back it was reported that approx 30% of drink driving offences in Scotland involved drivers outwith Scotland who were either ignorant of the drink driving laws in Scotland or who had simply forgotten. Pointing out that our dd limits are the same as France is really unnecessary, the limits up here are based on the figures used in many if not all EU countries. When traveling to a foreign country you are much more likely to be aware of this difference, than simply driving over the border to a different part of the U.K.. I was merely attempting to remind those who might be driving up here in their cars or vans of the difference, to help avoid anyone from being prosecuted.

If you say so . I thought it was a wee bit of handy extra information relevant to your OP .
 
We also can't buy alcohol before 10am here in Scotland, not really a problem, but I like to do the full shop really early, so it's a bit of a pain.
Again, OTT legislation to try and cure a minority problem...
 
We see many here standing outside the wino shop with brown fingers and a fag shaking in there hands, some with p-ss stained trousers, i kid you not.
 
I carry an electronic breathalyser and won't drive the next day until it doesn't register any alcohol on my breath, sometimes that may not be until mid afternoon, they are very accurate these days when tested against the Police's devices and are a very worthwhile investment.

Which remind me, mine needs replacing now.

Best to go to chapel rob, then follow the priest who will show you where to get a back door drink on a sunday morning. 😂

I don't know if its still the case but on a boys trip to the island of Uist in the noughties we ran out of booze on a Sunday. We found out there was literally one shop on the island that sold booze for just one hour on a Sunday lunchtime. We got there when it opened and it was like a stampede! :ROFLMAO:

Do you send them away for recalibration ?
Helen uses one at work for doing random tests on employees and has to send it away for recalibration every 12 months
She has only ever found one person to be over the limit and he was over 3 times the limit at 8.00am and he came to work on a motorbike.
But he swore that the last drink he’d had was 10pm the night before but he blew the same on two different machines.
And he had turned up to drive an ambulance.
But despite blowing 3 times over and Helen telling him to leave his bike at work and she would get someone to drive him home, he ignored her and jumped on his bike to go home.
 
Mine needs recalibration, might get a new one as not much difference in price between new and calibration, or maybe upgrade. They are all tested so I would presume reasonably accurate.
Alco-sense is the one I use, about five or six models to choose from.
